Our defense seemed to work best with all of Kelly, Hartigan, Talia and Keath in it. If we are playing a defensive lockdown gameplan, guess we need all of them so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He's 20 years old, racking up touches and kicking goals in SANFL. I wouldn't be writing him off.

Fair point but how many chances should he get before we delist him? Another 10?

So far he's a good example of a player who plays well in the reserves but doesn't transition it to the seniors.

I'm not saying he *will* be a star, just that I wouldn't write him off yet. He's at least performing in 2nd tier footy, and I can see why we would persist with him longer.

Maybe between 1 and 10??

You don't have to be a star to be a consistent AFL player. So far he has shown nothing in the seniors when given opportunities to warrant consistent games.

Okay. I personally think 20 is too young to write him off. We don't agree, but I can see why people aren't unhappy for him to get opportunities (in answer to your original point).

Fair enough. I'd happily be proven wrong if/when he comes back into the side and shows he belongs.

I hope he does. I'd be happier if he comes good rather than not too, and a lot of players develop at different rates. Andrew McLeod averaged 10 disposals per game in his 20 year old year. At 21, he lifted this to 17.

Absolutely, We have the need for speed.

Many options assuming Sloaney and Mrouch are fit.

1) ROB or Sauce; ROB is a good match up with Mumford, possibly Sauce plays against the Tigers due to 5 day break.

2) Jenkins or Himmelberg; Jenkins earned another game but the acid is in him.

3) Hartigan, Kelly, Milera or Mackay; Pick two defenders to join Brown, Talia, Smith, Laird and Keath.

4) Mrouch for ????. We need to find another role or drop one of our inside mids; Gibbs, CEY or Greenwood.

5) Outside mids, pick three from Milera (if not in defence), Seedsman, Atkins, Gallucci, Mackay, Smith and McHenry.

6) Small forwards, pick two from Players not selected above plus Betts, Murphy or Stengle.

In - Mrouch, Hartigan
Out - Mackay, Atkins

That won’t fulfil our need for speed!

I thought we played great football vs West Coast. We lost because their goalkicking accuracy was better and we couldn’t match them in the clutch last few minutes.

I thought we played awful football vs Melbourne. Our worst performance since the North game. We won because their goalkicking accuracy was terrible and they choked in the last few mins.

Therefore I would largely revert last week’s changes which made us much worse.

Out: Jenkins, Gibbs, Mackay
In: Himmelberg, Jones, Hartigan

Any injury swaps go like for like. Eg if Sloane is out and MCrouch is in.

If we bring last week’s lineup, or god forbid go even older and slower, it’s hard to see GWS not slicing us up for an easy win.

You drop JJ & leave in Tex. Which player was more dangerous!

We would be stupid to drop Gibbs who can cover one of their dangerous mids (probably Cogs) & play both Sloane & Mrouch, under injury clouds.

I think that’s a good pick up - he was diabolical v WCE and only marginally better last week.

He’s clearly viewed as a best 22 player so assume he’ll get some more time to find form.

He certainly deserves far more scrutiny than he’s getting

Probably Hartigan, but I would like to see Dougie.

Dougie looked awful early in the season. I don’t think a good game in the 2s is too meaningful in terms of being able to perform at the highest level. He looked close to cooked. Likely selection though and if it costs Mackay his spot I’ll be fairly happy.
