So Ben Hart has just said Douglas will play up forward, so again i ask who is the better forward, Douglas or Greenwood who can actually mark, something we can’t do up forward.

Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Dont be stupid... mookay will be a late in for sloane... campo will convince everyone its a “like for like” replacement.. you know... same, same, but different! At least Mackay is finally out, but dropping Greenwood makes no sense.
I can see how they can justify bringing Douglas back in based on SANFL form but there's really no need to have him play at AFL level at this point.
Who would you rather up forward, Douglas or Greenwood because that’s where Douglas will play
It's not an easy position to be in. I'm sure Gibbs told everyone all the right things, but addictions are pricks of a thing. You can get them under control, maybe he did have it under control and just like that you can slip and you're back in it.I see your point mate, but I also don't care about Carlton.
There were rumours about his personal issues - if they AFC weren't aware of them, it is pathetic; if they were aware of them, and still made the trade they did, then they're incompetent and stupid.

Every week all season people have expected Atkins to get dropped
Might by right one day but along way off so far this season
Gibbs will get a reprieve for Sloane
I don't get the decision making behind backing in Jones earlier but now selecting Douglas.
Are we developing youth or selecting senior players in a desperate attempt to make finals?
The flip flop is just strange
There’s no hiding a player in a pocket in modern AFL. There isn’t even a forward pocket position. Even if you are a forward, you have to cover ground. Then stick him in the forward pocket ......
Hart just said can’t see him playing up forward for the whole game, whereas Douglas can. Who would you have up forward?Greenwood gives us one too many inside bulls, he was the most out of form so he goes out. Plus I reckon he was gassed after last week like a lot of them.
Reckon he's a monty for next week.
The question is... who gets the reprieve from the late withdrawal of Sloane and possibly MCrouch?
Maybe I wouldn't have brought Douglas in but I don't know if you watched the SANFL game or not....Douglas was absolutely dominant on the weekend.
Like I said, they were likely aware, Reid was his manager after all and would know him very well. Gibbs could have also had his issues under control at the time. Addictions don't have a magic cure and it's suddenly gone, it'll be something he has to work on and with for the rest of his life most likely. If Gibbs has that "problem" and it's not a recent development, how'd he keep it from the Crows?
Somebody didn't look into the closet door.
I can't say I would ignore the welfare of a player if they thought coming home would help them get their life in order. There's always a human element to consider.
Have you watched Stengle in the SANFL? He kicks goals, but he is in no way going to replace what they keep Murphy in the team for at the moment.
6 out of 11 isn't that impressive.
Wilson deserves an opportunity, he's been one of our best SANFL players for years. Why do we draft these guys if we aren't going to give them a chance at a bloody career?
McHenry, agree completely mate.

Does the selection of Douglas mean the club still thinks it's a premiership chance. Maybe they need to watch the 2017 GF replay.
This is madness.
If we didn’t trade for him you’d still be banging on about it. He was also good for us last year.I see your point mate, but I also don't care about Carlton.
There were rumours about his personal issues - if they AFC weren't aware of them, it is pathetic; if they were aware of them, and still made the trade they did, then they're incompetent and stupid.
The way I see it with Greenwood is the game last week was incredibly taxing and he isn't a very aerobic beast. Brouch said on radio he lost around 4 kgs..... that's huge.
It's certainly not a black and white situation and i'm not advocating for trading for someone just to be good blokes. His form last year would suggest it's something that was not an issue for him. This year has been completely different. We paid two first rounders for it. We're not a charity and player welfare can be damned in comparison.
6/11 is actually quite impressive for a first year player, even in a non performance role. The vast majority at all clubs play 0.
Wilson does not deserve a chance because of his SANFL form. That means absolutely nothing. You draft them because maybe they'll round some things out which could see them become an AFL piece in a professional environment. Like Beech before and the vast majority of performing SANFL players, this one didn't.
1 or 2...I don’t get it. It’s a bit like Harto I guess. Can’t see past 1 or 2 stuff ups so ignore all the good.
It is and these selections show itKeeping Murphy and Atkins in after our game is just incredibly dumb. But we are Adelaide, winning isnt everything.
I agree Greenwood has been down a little , I also agree his fitness base is terrible for a midfielderI actually like the selections !
I can see Gibbs coming in for Sloane
Greenwood has been poor for 3 weeks and finally played 40 mins toward end of melb game , hasn’t covered ground well in defence and not a good idea to play him 3 games in 12 days
Yes I’d play him against Richmond regardless
Its a sad state of affairs if Dougy and speed are mentioned together. Great servant , great clubman but if Douglas is replacing Greenwood in the midfield then we are cookedI’m not sure why people are melting down about this. McRouch comes in for Gibbs, Douglas in for Greenwood to combat the speed of GWS
Lol, what is the gain in dropping Greenwood and bringing in Douglas?
Douglas showed at the start of the season that he's completely lost all the speed he did have and now his brain fades are even more prominent. Greenwood would be faster than him, is taller, better overhead, better in close and a better tackler. It makes no sense.
I must have missed where Hugh dominated up forward this year. I think he’s best 22 most of the year, but his form has been just ok. I can’t imagine he will be out for long anyway. So Ben Hart has just said Douglas will play up forward, so again i ask who is the better forward, Douglas or Greenwood who can actually mark, something we can’t do up forward.
yep kicks goals....and nearly as many points....SANFL scoring accuracy currently 54%I can't say I would ignore the welfare of a player if they thought coming home would help them get their life in order. There's always a human element to consider.
