Umpires for Friday night...brace yourself...

Mathew Nicholls (15), Ray Chamberlain (18), Shane McInerney (30)
You can't be serious! Hope you are joking as that would be my worst nightmare. Would tip the odds back in hawks favour. 2012 all over again!

There's the ball game right there.

Nicholls will watch the 2012 prelim again to fire himself up..."some of my best work"

I wonder which Crows player in the defensive 50 will be penalised for being held in a headlock this time around.

Bradley Hill being in or out could have a big say in the outcome.

With Buddy gone and Cyril injured, they looked quite slow with Hill missing against the Roos. Isaac Smith looked knackered as the lone speedster.

That was my initial thought.

The 2012 preliminary umpires should be banned from Hawks v Crows games.

If they really are the umpires named, Hawks betting odds look good value as beating 1 is hard enough, but all frigging 3 is going to be bloody difficult!

Rutten...
Talia....

so Otten is due.

Mind you Buddy isn't playing this time ;)

Podsiadly has absolutely no defensive efforts

You don't need to be able to be mobile if you are a power forward. But playing two of them hinders the team. Pods has to go

You keep harping on about this and yet I don't understand, because its just plain wrong.

Pods IS mobile for a big forward, and is one of the best in the league at laying tackles inside the defensive 50. This has always been one of his strong suits so yeah, I'm lost on that front...

Jenkins is one of the most mobile big men in the game so playing Pods really doesn't affect our structure all that much, regardless of what you think about Pods. I dont think anyone has as big a problem as you do with either of these 2 being in the same side given their athletic abilitieso_O

So all 3 of these umpires were the umpires that umpired the prelim final? (what a sentence haha)

I'd never joke about having to put up with these 3 in the same game.

As most would be well aware, two of these were involved in that 2012 Prelim. I'm sure it's done on purpose!

Pretty sure he has only downloaded the first 3 rounds of the season. It's the only possible reason why anyone would still be hating on Pods.

Either that, or he's a troll, or someone who is both delusional and completely and utterly clueless. I'm leaning towards the latter.

What is this mythical better structure you are talking about.

You do realise with the structure we have right now we are playing the best footy of the season. Each of our tall guys up forward have a separate role.

Jenkins - Second Ruck and key forward. Is the best second ruck/forward in the game right now.
Pods - The floater, is kicking goals, takes heat off of Tex and when need goes down back. Is also a leader out there with a mature footy brain.
Tex - Getting run in his legs, more of a traditional CHF than FF right now.
Lynch - Forward flanker. IMO is not really a "tall" as he plays more like a tall flanker.

You take Pods out for a mid/small forward and the first thing you do is expose Tex to a better defender/and or tighter team defence. The second thing you do is loose that player who fills a hole down back. The third thing you do is lose a defender when we realise Tex is being beaten and struggling. So one of Hendo or Otten has to go up forward and our defence suffers.

Take Jenkins out and Sauce is on his own. Jenkins is also a very good link up player in the middle when not up forward. Can also kick a nice long goal.

Take Tex out and he dominates the SANFL, who cares. He will gain more at AFL level slugging it out with Jenkins and Pods by his side.

Take Lynch out and we lose our best forward flanker.

Like it or not, Pods is one of our most important players. And this is because we have McKernan spudding it up at SANFL level and nothing much else in terms of talls coming through. So him playing is not harming another player's development because our best structure is the one we have right now. It is working, dont change it just because of an archaic view that says too many tall players is not good for structure.

They have invented a role/changed our structure so pods can stay in the side. The other three haven't changed their roles. Tex is the power forward, Jenkins the forward/ruck and lynch the third tall/high half forward. Lynch isn't a forward flanker, there isn't such a thing these days in the game. He is a leading third tall who can push right up to stoppages.

We have lost an extra mid so the fossil can stay in the team

And pods with a good footy brain? don't be stupid

First thing we do is expose tex to a better defender? Tex is already getting the best defender, and he is one of the best forwards in the game. It won't kill him to lose the fossil

Pods move to the back line at the end of quarters is so overrated. We have henderson, smith, etc. to play that role. We don't need a forward to do it

We don't need hendo or otten up forward, they are not forwards. We will go with a 3 tall structure in walker, jenkins and lynch

Ill save you the time as well, walker, lynch and jenkins are never going to be dropped, so don't even think about that

Pods is not one of our most important players, not even close.

Pods can sit under a high ball and not get outmarked, nor have the ball punched 30 metres from the contest. He is probably our only forward for this role at the moment.

Where do you come up with this tripe? What even posses you to make a statement like that?
