Bevo's comments at the press conference yesterday were wrong. He said that we will know our fate by the end of this weekends round and whether we can make the eight. But that is not true as if they beat Hawthorn they will go back into the eight on Friday night. We all know they will not stay there as Essendon will beat Fremantle. But seeing there is still a mathematical chance of making the 8, does that mean Matthew Boyd does not get a farewell game?
I'd be rather surprised if he doesn't play given the ladder situation etc. Need a miracle to play finals. Happy for him to get farewell game and if it costs us a spot, then we move up the draft order one spot anyway. He deserves a send off.

The chances of Freo beating Essendon over here are those of a snowflake in hell. Freo are seriously bad. The idea of mathematical possibility doesn't interest me, we have had our chances. Better a team in there who are motivated and willing to give it their best shot. That is not us at the present. So, selection wise this week, everything should be on the table.
Boyd needs to be picked, it's not as if there's going to be a quality player taking his spot anyway.

Do we know if any players need surgery during the off season? If so, I favour the idea of getting it done early and getting them back for as long a pre-season as possible.
I really hope we get to see one last cheap shot from Hodge in his final game.

If we play Tom Boyd next week then he becomes ineligible for the VFL finals. Why the * would we rush him back after one week when we can just tell him 'no pressure, we want you to just work hard during the VFL finals'

Incorrect. We can still make finals, if the other three contenders all lose. Problem is they all play after us so we will have no idea how the domino's will fall.
As unlikely as it seems we will be kicking ourselves if we dont pick the best team to win , lose, and all of Bombers, Saints and west coast lose also.
