Out:
Miller: Extend the arms when you go for a mark
King: Did some stuff late, but I reckon Edwards is more effective in the role
Dea: Look a liabilty on the small, mediums and talls (talls is forgiven)
Grimes: :(

In:
Post: To play forward
Vickery: Forward/2nd ruck
Arnott: Give him a go
McGuane: At least he will be okay at CHB, i'm not convinced of anyone else

McGuane out for the season isn't he. Major injury last week. A knee?

Re: Changes Vs The (d)hawks)

when do the 2s play? Need to see who plays well. Really need to fix the forward line, its just not working. Too much attention on Jack at the moment. Need a tall defender too. My wish would be for Post and Conners to play blinders at VFL and come in to give us what we so desperately need. A tall forward who can mark and goal and take some pressure of JR and a dangerous medium sized forward who can lead up at the ball.
Also need a tall defender. Astbury might be needed sooner than we thought, or is Griffiths ok to go?

OUT: Grimy (huge loss - hopefully only2-3 weeks) Miller
IN: Poster, Tyrone

Really depneds on who stands up for Coburg
I agree with this, but it makes me nervous. Posts kicking is shite and we need our disposal to be good (particularly in the backline).

Re: Changes Vs The (d)hawks)

Would not hit the panic button. We lost because we were inaccurate.

Out : Grimes (inj), King
In : Vickery, Post

Post should be told that the next fortnight decides his future. Vickery needs to help Jack in the forward 50.

Conners should be looking at a huge game for Coburg. It's now or never.

Re: Changes Vs The (d)hawks)

out: grimes, king, ellis
in: post, arnot, piva or whoever played fb during the nab cup/ vicks/ griffiths

miller should go back and hes played down back before at melbourne, and if we play post down back he'll be a liability. or we could alternatively have batch take grimes' spot and let dea/piva play third tall, i hope dea is up for it and steps up. vickery or griffiths come in to play mark up forward as king hasnt even kicked a goal this season and his defensive pressure has been down. not saying vickery's defensive pressure isnt good it'll just be better to have a bit more size in the forward line about hawthorn. arnot for ellis, good swap. sam mitchell hasnt been that good this season and hodge is out so that gives us some relief.
i certainly hope we dont play buddy into form and all we have to do is shut down rioli and roughead although i have a massive feeling buddy is going to maul rance. we really need to plan for this game during the week and i hope our coburg guys stand up or else we're doomed.
beyond grimes there is no-one else as good as him. depth you damn *******

Re: Changes Vs The (d)hawks)

OUT: Grimes IN: Griffiths - so long as he plays the 4 qtrs tomorrow. (Post has proven he isn't a backman!!!)

OUT: King IN: Graham - Gus has been our best at Coburg from all reports and can allow EEEEVVVVVAAARRNNN to drop back into defence to help out with Buddy and Rough. Also would mean we absolutely smash Hawks in the ruck.

Out: Miller, King, Ellis, Grimes

In: Vickery, Arnot, Webberley, Post.

Vickery and Post up forward, Webberley down back, Arnot a handy sub. Maric to contest the centre bounce then float around the middle and defence, Vickery to float up forward taking ruck duties. Post as the extra target that Miller hasn't been providing. We know he can mark and his poor kicking makes it logical to join the Richmond team the the moment.

Post will play defence. Unless you want Rance to be the only tall down back with Roughead and Franklin running around ;)

I am not sure why so many are calling for Miller to go. He has been our most effective forward for a lot of this year. He needs to make more of his opportunities (but so do others) but forward line needs more options not less.

I like the thinking re Miller back. Even as an option this carries merit. Bring in Post, play Miller back, post forward and switch if required. I would send Miller to Hale, Rance to Buddy and see how that plays out.

I think Vickery for King is also right.

We continued intensity we have every chance next week, particularly at the G.

:thumbsu: Great post

There's currently no player fit enough or with the ability to replace Miller. How quickly we forget that Miller was recruited to assist with the development of the tall forwards - Griffiths, Post and Vickery. None of these three are available, or pushing for senior selection. Remove Miller without replacing him with a tall forward, and Jack will have 3 players ganging up on him.

Miller has fulfilled a role. No developing forward is ready or fit. Even when Vickery is fit, Miller will still play. Griffiths has spent more time in rehab than on the ground. Post can't play back, but I'd like to see the opportunity for him to play forward - but he is not consistent. You know Miller will kick 2 goals per game, and will continue to fulfill that role until Griffiths gains fitness or Elton gains experience.
