So, who comes in for Grimes?

Amazed there doesn't seem to be a thread on this already?

Anyway, we've already been playing a little small down back, and now losing Grimes for a month or so, a tall will have to come in.

Last update I heard on McGuane was ACL, so clearly he's not coming in. Griffith's can't stay on the park for a whole game, let alone 4 in a row. Moore and Astbury will need a fair bit of time in the VFL to get back up to speed. Post would seem the obvious one, but he looked all at sea in round 1, and I'd actually prefer to see him tried up forward (maybe we could try Miller at CHB and Post at FF/CHF)?

So, is it Post by default? Have I forgotten anyone?

I would be shocked if Post is brought in to play defence. He has been getting owned in the VFL in the backline and was switched forward last week out of desperation and then he kicked 6 goals. My mate told me that the coaching staff are pretty much giving up on him being a defender and if he is going to have a career it will be as a forward.

Although our team is going alright unfortunately our depth is so so bad and I fear what will happen when we get 4 or 5 injuries.

Why on earth would anyone want Miller in the team he is an absolute shithouse footballer, Id replace him with Vickery just go 2 tall forward line. bring in Post for down back and drop King for Connors or A.Maric.

Newman needs to have more than 8 disposals just not a good enough from the captain.

2 weeks ago i would have agreed with you, yesterday our midfield pulled the finger out and demolished the dockers everywhere, thats the only area you may be able to gain ascendancy, should be a great game though im expecting it to be free flowing with lots of opportunities for both teams.

NOWAY would Arnott be coming in...not with Maric collecting 34 possessions through the midfield and Connors kicking 4 goals!

I would like to see us go the two talls and not three.

Post and Griffiths are not up to AFL standard at the moment. Rance on Roughead because he will be in the square (like this weekend) and Batchelor roaming with Franklin (ala. JB back in the day). Have to play a loose to help him though, but Hawks probably will not allow it. Maric will be vital in this game.

Post will be eatten alive by Franklin, he is just too quick, too mobile, And we need Rance at FB not centre half forward/roaming the wings. Need his strength for the long ball in! So he is NOT the obvious selection at all. Maybe if they play Franklin at deep FF...but that would not be in their best interest.

If they bring in Gunston then geez, lets hope the midfield can apply the pressure!

Make it happen Dimma. King was poo last night.. Miller was crap and Vickery will hit form soon enough. Griffiths to play back on Roughy or Buddy.. Seriously there is no one else so give him a go.

A.Maric is an upgrade on King at the moment. We all know how good Addam can be.. Give him another go.

I am not sure why so many are calling for Miller to go. He has been our most effective forward for a lot of this year. He needs to make more of his opportunities (but so do others) but forward line needs more options not less.

I like the thinking re Miller back. Even as an option this carries merit. Bring in Post, play Miller back, post forward and switch if required. I would send Miller to Hale, Rance to Buddy and see how that plays out.

I think Vickery for King is also right.

We continued intensity we have every chance next week, particularly at the G.

Agree.

King has been useless for a few weeks now and while Miller has played a role his time should just about be up.

Connors could fill that mid sized forward role that we lack so desperately. Can leap, take a mark and is capable at ground level. Has the ability and it's up to him really. Deserves a go at least. Forward line has let the team down all year so they'd be silly not to change it up a bit. I'd also keep Ellis in the side over Dea if it's one or the other. He is more ready for senior football.

So you do you also agree that Vickery has been useless for the first 6 weeks as well. Now why would you think the brains trust are going to rush him back into the side after "injury" ? It has got me ****ed on how useless contirbutors are being rewarded with continued selection, then before they were one week away from really being put to the sword, have a "calf injury" then we have the coach suggesting we are desperate to get them back....I mean get them back for what? what on earth was Dimma thinking suggesting we are desperate to get back someone who has taken 5 marks in 6 rounds of footy.? stop with the ****ing BS dimma..
