I’ve slept on it and I’m still really upset we lost Garner. Couldn’t have done a whole lot more. Maybe his left foot is too accurate that he’s a bit of a misfit among the playing group.

It's so underrated on here it isn't funny. Not enough talk about our best player coming back into the team! Robbie is such a huge in for us.
Exactly. We have now got back our best defender and our Captain. This makes Clurey and Howard even stronger in defence. It's so underrated on here it isn't funny.
Nice to have a member of our leadership group in the team too.

Atley had a much better game than most give him credit for.Garner will get another go soon enough. I'm alright with Broady staying in. Am more disappointed about Atley dropping out, as I feel we've interrupted the balance of in/out mids by doing so.
Are Amon and Impey gonna be playing next to each other?
He looks old school Port. Some of the things he did and his physique reminded me a bit of Greg Phillips. .. he should be rockin the # 22 on his back.
has his legs, thought the same thing.
'Very consistent player in Broadbent'
He's played two games since 2017 and hasn't played a good game since 2016.
He’s been pretty good the last two weeks IMO. Very reliable with the ball in hand, defending and intercepting well. I thought his ball use by foot was awesome, though he hasn’t yet provided the run he used to.
If you think he played badly you simply saw the game differently to me, no real point arguing about it.
Unfortunately he is due, i know he has been out injured but his form before that was terrible, if he doesn't he'll be playing for Box Hill soon enough. His return to form was always going to happen against us.So depressing to think that Chad will be on the opposition team tomorrow. It's going to be weird watching him play against us, hoping he doesn't light it up, hoping he misses shots on goal, etc.
Tom Clurey and Lienert laid a total of zero tackles between them on the weekend.Since his return Broadbent has been playing an extremely loose game (total of 1 tackle laid in 2 games so far, and far more uncontested than contested ball), and doesn't even have the good disposal efficiency that usually goes with playing so far outside. Thats what he actually did.

In addition to the endless stats I've presented on this topic over the past couple of weeks, across multiple threads of Janus denial of Broadbent's indifferent form, here's a couple more:Tom Clurey and Lienert laid a total of zero tackles between them on the weekend.
Spuds delist.
In addition to the endless stats I've presented on this topic over the past couple of weeks, across multiple threads of Janus denial of Broadbent's indifferent form, here's a couple more:
- Garner doubled Broadbent's tackle count for the year in one game.
- Broadbent has more Clangers across two games than Lienert has in four. Benefit of experience?
- Despite Broadbent supposedly being a rebounding defender, Clurey had more R50s just last week than Broadbent's had this season.
- All three of these guys won equal or more 1%ers than Broadbent last week
But if you reckon loose cheapies and less physical pressure laid than Nathan Lonie are good form, you're on the right wagon.
I guess that low disposal efficiency is really helping out teammates up field?I think the whole idea of playing as a team is for your performance to make your teammates better.
I'm not going to argue Broadbent's been in great form, because he's been ok but not great. However one of his intangibles is the benefit of experience. He knows where to be, knows when to go and when to stay, and has the confidence to keep the backline organised. In addition to the endless stats I've presented on this topic over the past couple of weeks, across multiple threads of Janus denial of Broadbent's indifferent form, here's a couple more:

Dougal Howard was named captain last week, so I guess even the club doesn't rate that experience intangible particularly highly.I'm not going to argue Broadbent's been in great form, because he's been ok but not great. Mate I've been dealing with the uber-selective Janus for a fortnight and now Kiss is getting in on it.Not going to argue against your point, however i do like the use of the terms 'year' and 'season' when referencing Broadbents stats, as if he has been playing the entire year when he has only played 2 games. Its like the classic yelling of, 'he's been doing it all day!' for the first free kick paid of the match.
