If Broadbent played the game Garner played and Garner played the game Broadbent played, the reaction would've been the same.

Garner did well but some of the commentary here is over the top and classic shiny new toy syndrome.

Garner was very good last week but it’s a tad ridiculous to expect a second gamer to push out a very consistent player in Broadbent.

This is an absolute must win game, so I expect us to take zero risks. Giving Garner another week would have been nice, but I’ll take the W tyvm.

Losing Lycett is annoying but I suspect we’ll be fine given Ryder could probably ruck all game if needed and will have Ladhams to help him out.

Having Robbie and Jonas back is just wonderful for our chances. I still think they will be hard to beat particularly with the way games are umpired in Tasmania, but I’m hoping for the best.

We had 8 players under 10 games last week and 14 under 50. I'm very happy with the amount of development we're doing at the moment. Broadbent instead of Garner doesn't change that.

If Ladhams outperforms Ryder we drop Ryder I reckon. Stop picking on reputation and start picking who’s actually in better form. Can’t see that happening though as there’s no way Ryder would get dropped especially for China.

Typical Ken though nice guy attitude before the future of the club. Broadbent was horrible. Garner deserved to go again.

The fact we are miles off from an AFL flag and that Jonas is in to add experience to the backline should make this decision super easy.

How is it ridiculous? He's the better player right now. Garner was better than Broadbent when both were in the SANFL this year too. You wouldn't know that because you were calling for Hartlett to play AFL 2 months ago while he was struggling to run out the game against West Adelaide.

He's played two games since 2017 and hasn't played a good game since 2016.

If Ladhams outperforms Ryder we drop Ryder I reckon. Stop picking on reputation and start picking who’s actually in better form. Can’t see that happening though as there’s no way Ryder would get dropped especially for China.

China would be the perfect time to give him a week off TBH. Save his old bones the long plane trip and give him a full three week break to refresh his body.
