If Keath is our replacement for JJ I will spew up!Forgot about Scott.
Keath wouldn't be sub though. Jones could be
It's not a structure we need for finals there are actually very very few teams with 3 KPDs and the only decent ones are the DeesKeath will come in for JJ. Hawks have 3 tall forwards and it’s a structure we’ll need for finals. JJ eventually comes in for VDM.
This discussion has been had a lot and the only way 2 KPD work is if they're surrounded by versatile medium options. Given we only have one (Richards) and one KPD is a young guy with less than 10 games of experience, it's a recipe for disaster against quality opposition. A game against an awful Richmond with only one key forward option doesn't change my mind. It's not a structure we need for finals there are actually very very few teams with 3 KPDs and the only decent ones are the Dees
We have 3 talls all better than the Hawks and yet they will go in with Blanck as their only genuine KPD
It clearly should be and Cleary will be an upgrade on JJ for intercept marking and 1 v 1 contests though way behind in run and carry though not skills.Cleary for JJ
Baker for Scott

Given it has only been quality smalls or at best medium smalls that have got hold of us and represent 50% of the top ten goal kickers and 20 goalkickers, explain how this is a recipe for disaster? This discussion has been had a lot and the only way 2 KPD work is if they're surrounded by versatile medium options. Dale 188cm good contested mark
Dale in his forward days got the majority of his goals form marks
You've just listed two guys that have taken 4 contested marks all year, one that has played about a half in defence and one that has taken 1 contested mark in his career.Dale 188cm good contested mark Richards 188cm good contested mark Williams 190cm good contested mark Cleary 191cm good contested mark we have 4 that can do it,
We are going nowhere fast playing the extra tall it doesn't work so why persist with it?
Richmond had Riewoldt Soldo Bauer
Hawthorn have Lewis Koschitzke Ryan we aren't exactly up against our forwardline
Yes, I suspected this would be the case. JJ was able to finish the game last week with his calf strapped but I wonder if he should have even been allowed back on when we were 60 points up. Anyway you can bet that he won't be out for just one week. Calves don't heal quickly. Just ask Sam Kerr. And JJ is over 30 so the healing is even slower.
Ah yes do what we did last year to "make noise" in finals how did that go again? You've just listed two guys that have taken 4 contested marks all year, one that has played about a half in defence and one that has taken 1 contested mark in his career.
This game has nothing to do with Hawks actual forward line but what we will need to be prepared to do to make any noise in this years finals.
... taking a maximum of four contested marks in total all year in any of his forward years. He took 8 total as a defender in 2021 - a career high at 0.3 per game.Dale in his forward days got the majority of his goals form marks
He has played as a flanker often surrounded by talls making it not relevant for him however he is absolute fine at doing it when needed... taking a maximum of four contested marks in total all year in any of his forward years. He took 8 total as a defender in 2021 - a career high at 0.3 per game.
Dale is an elite half back but "good" contested mark he is not.
Okay, your argument changes every time you post so I'm gonna give up now and agree to disagree. He has played as a flanker often surrounded by talls making it not relevant for him however he is absolute fine at doing it when needed
How has it changed? Dale is a good contested mark when needed? Just because he doesn't do it often (due to structure) doesn't mean he isn't capable of itOkay, your argument changes every time you post so I'm gonna give up now and agree to disagree.
