So a sobering look at who from our Premiership team in 2018 that is still on our list are out:

Backline.

McGovern
Barrass
Hurn
Duggan

Midfield.

Shuey
Yeo
Hutchings
Vardy

Forwards.

Venables
Ryan
Rioli :soonarrow: 🚬

The good news is that we do have guys like Gaff, Naitanui, Sheppard, Kelly, Allen, Waterman, Nelson, Rotham that didn’t play in the premiership but are now established best 22. But yes, the cupboard is getting very bare.

In part you are correct.

BUT

What we need to do is keep winning and we have a stretch of four games that are very winnable.

Look at the upside if we keep winning with depleted side, then that puts us in a good position depth wise to call on the next man up if one gets hurt.

We, like all teams, will have injuries running into the finals, if we had used depth players to get us to the finals then the confidence they will gained if called upon latter on the season will be a real asset.

True.

I mean it worked in 2018 when we had those spat of injuries.

Some positives are we get some games into players like Foley and Edwards who are very capable.

We are pretty close now to breaking point in terms of the injuries.

Just have to get through this next block of games, and hope we bank enough wins prior to the bye.

The bye will be the ideal kickstart for a hopeful finals build, unless of course the injury trend continues.

In's - Barrass , Foley

Foley could be the wingman we're looking for , Bookmark it !
What makes you say this? I heard this was his best position from a family member of his when he was first drafted but there's been no real hint of it in any of his build up so far. When I asked them which current AFL player he most played like they said 'Gaff', but again nothing in his time at the club to date would suggest this.

What's the story with Winder and his knee.

Or is it just our medical team being soft.

We are heading for a " Beersheba " like charge to make the top four as the season progresses.

I was just thinking of this. Only 7 players from the GF playing this weekend.

Subiaco prior to being drafted Foley was midfield reckon a spot on the wing could be a chance if he goes well at half back ....
Edit - Would take any spot I would imagine at AFL level

How is Trew not traveling? Unless he's injured.
Didn't he miss last week due illness?

So Vardy and Duggan didn't travel, Foley, LEdwards and Williams did.

Williams the obvious Vardy replacement. Foley the back for back as Duggan replacement.
Though I'd love to see LEdwards get a go as well.

So Sheps in? Great if he is..and Barrass?
What's Foley and Ledwards like...guess we're about to find out!
Really hope this young trending team show some form in this game,
bodes well for the future and depth..

Barrass didn’t fly

When you strip away the gender bias I think she is objectively not a good umpire.

Unfortunately she's not on her Pat Malone. Absolute joke that umpires aren't full time pro's at this point in time.

Nearly 2 years ago we played the same opponent at the same venue.

Our team that day, interestingly, didn't include either McGovern or Barrass who of course won't be out there on Sunday.

But it did include the following;

Shuey (3 Brownlow votes)
Yeo
Hurn
Ryan
Rioli

We fell over the line by 6 points.

Can't say I'm too confident this week.

And just when injuries keep occurring the afl decide to really ruin our game Sunday

You really think she's worse than Cameron Dore, Andrew Heffernan, Paul Rebeschini and Jeremy Collins?
