I have to say, I pity anyone who expected things to radically change this week.

Football clubs don't have a single selector. The panel's selection process, however flawed, is not going to suddenly change without Primus there.

Yeah, I wouldn't have dropped him this week. I was just listing all of Primus' gold pass brigade who are still in the side under Hocking. Not saying they all should've been dropped at once, but it's a disgrace that none of them have been dropped.

Rodan's into the 18, so he's a definite in. Looks like Hocking has decided he definitely wants the coach's job

Honestly, looking at that side we may as well have kept Primus. Logan, Brett Ebert, Thomas, D. Stewart, Cassisi, Westhoff, McCarthy all still picked, and now even Rodin is back. Meh. Very uninspiring.

Just putting this out there. If four of Thomas, Moore, Wingard, McCarthy and Young all get picked from the bench this week, then we've only made one forced change from a side that just lost to GWS. And that forced change would've been to bring Rodan in, probably at the expense of Moore, Wingard or Young. Nothing has changed. If anything it's gotten worse.

The only conclusion I can come up with is Hocking is giving guys on the edge of their careers a chance to play for their careers. Any other attempt to rationalize that team makes no sense.

Chaplin - Now we are playing injured players. WTF is going on?
Trengove - WOG last week. What does his selection this week say to him and his team mates? Buddy's not playing and should have been dropped.
D Stewart - It just goes on and on.

I'd love to know why people are so venomously against Rodan playing....not part of our next Top 4 assault? not playing well in the SANFL? None of our players are playing well, anywhere, at all. It doesnt matter who plays this week, or next week. Most of the blokes in our 22 are pathetic and probably wouldnt perform well in the SANFL week in week out anyway. No real point knocking Rodan ATM.

They've had years and years to play for their careers. They should be using this week to get used to their new SANFL careers.

I can only hope that he wants to protect the younger players from getting smashed by Hawthorn and that D. Stewart, Logan and Rodan at the very least are playing their last games for the club and will be replaced by players with a future next week.

If the choice was between playing Rodan and Logan or Rodan and D. Stewart or Rodan and Cassisi or Rodan and some other old spud, I'd happily welcome Rodan back to the side. But when Rodan is in the side ahead of Ben Jacobs, Mitch Banner and at least two, probably three (Thomas doesn't get dropped when he plays like shit, so he won't get dropped after playing reasonably well last week. McCarthy might be, but judging by the rest of the guys still in the 18 the gold passes to underperforming seniors haven't been revoked) of Redden, Pfeiffer, Moore, Wingard and Young, that's why we're knocking his selection.

The real answer is that Primus left behind the hat with the rolled up pieces of paper in it containing player names. Blindfolded (fairness is important) Whiskas continued the tradition of drawing out 22 names of uninjured players. Unknown to anyone Salter's and Phillip's names have long been caught in the hat's lining.

Rodan ...... best of the rest and in
Pfieffer ....... high in best and in squad

Phillips, Hitchcock, Butcher, Curnow all average.

The following had bye:
Jacobs ....... would have been option, for who in what role ?
Salopek ....... played average week before
Surjan ........ only OK week before, corky so possibly not right
Banner ...... good in reserves, but they were worried about fitness and he copped corky.

Think everyone else is pretty much injured.
