What else do you do with first year coaches?

Simpson came in late so didn't have any impact on draft and trading. He also has taken over a team in need of a rebuild.
He is doing a very good job. Did people really expect to be a solid top 8 team this season?

I think the pre-season and beating up on the lower teams at the start of the season gave a false sense of hope.

At the time I thought we were a good chance of cracking the 8, but now it's all fallen apart.

I think Simpsons cops a bit of criticism, fair or otherwise for selection choices - now we don't know his agenda, his requirements or anything, so it's hard to be too critical of him, I think he just wants to see where everyone is at.
I'm ok with him playing Butler, Patty, Brennan etc. as they are at the crossroads and at least he's giving them a go to see if they're worth keeping, rather than just keeping them in WAFL and cutting them at year's end.

By your responses to my "most negative poster" posts.
You just want the sugar and spice and all things nice version.

I'll stand by what i said originally, wether you like it or not, that's fine by me.

And whilst i agree we have been ordinary of recent times, and things need to be done to fix the club,i'm not interested in taking pot shots at players that have given us some great moments over the last decade, it's not all doom and gloom, we have a coach who i think is on the right path, and has a lot of work to do with what he has inherited. Past poor decisions are not going to fixed in a year, we are in for a long wait for our next flag, and i doubt too many that are at our club currently will part of that.

Out: Rosa, Kennedy, Brennan, Butler, Cripps
In: Sheed, Sinclair, Bennell, Tunbridge, Smith

'Rest' NN for another game, bring in Smith as a forward to replace Cripps. Sinkers in if JK cops a ban, maybe even throw McInnes to the lions, even though he's been pretty ordinary for EP, might show more playing at a higher level.

While Rocckliff has been offered a week for striking Rance. What a joke the MRP panel.
1 week for what Kennedy did (very lucky) and 1 for Rocky (shouldnt have been insufficient force like how Abblet gets it all the time)

One has a six-year good record, the other has a poor record and carryover points.

Go read the details further mate... JK - Good Record ; Your Man - bad record...

Doesn't matter, if it is not sufficient force (which considering Chapmen's elbows havent been) then it doesn't matter about poor or good record

Then the Lions should challenge it at the tribunal. Even if they lose he'll still only get a week.

Don't worry mate.
You could lose your best players and we will somehow work your team into form and you will have a win.
We are good at that.

Graded as negligent, high contact, high impact. 325 points or 3 week ban, down to 2 weeks with his good record and down to 1 week for an early plea.

Can't see it being challenged at all.
High Impact is a croc considering some of the other gradings we have seen. That vile elbow on Sheppard garned less last year.

Sheppard played out the game, Jones got subbed off.

who knows, maybe with him in charge we might have. ever thought of that?

Quoted for the extreme lol's .... Why can't some people just accept that our list is poor and a good chunk of that is on Woosh for mismanaging the team and the type of players he built the team with... Add in his poor player development and you have the current shitness.

Woosh isn't the solution, he was a huge part of the problem.

Why is that so hard to grasp?

We were likely more poilte in our medical report while Sydney weren't so much. Considering the subtle sook Longmire had about the umpiring after the match, prompted possibly but.

Edit: Oh and I believe that Swans player was considered fine by the end of the match. Didn't Shep miss the week after mind you?

The facts are the facts though - Sheppard was able to play on after being assessed, Jones wasn't.

I agree the McKernan suspension was bloody lenient but there's not much point speculating about what Sydney's medical report might have said.

Edit: Actually Shep's was assessed as high impact as well: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-07-08/mrp-full-statement-round-15

Fair enough, I understand the point system and think its fine most of the time but in need of tweakings to certain offenses, like those elbows. The underlying 3 weeks for that bump is overly harsh, its just not going to get any mention since its discounted down to 1 and the media isn't interested in discussing the mrp regards bumps now.

That link youve provided reminded me, it was McKernan not getting Intentional for that elbow that was confusing, was indeed graded high too.

Simpson has to earn his stripes but he deserves at least 2 and arguably 3 years in the job to prove his credentials and have a chance to put his stamp on the list

i dont disagree with that. my point wasnt that Simpson was a problem. just that worsfold wasnt as bad as people made out. at the end of the day, coaches can only do so much and up to player to make it. recruiting to me is the biggest problem. not the coaching.
