Simmo needs to give up the idea of squeezing into the 8 and making up numbers. We are a rebuilding and rebuilding sides give games to kids who probably don't deserve games. Look at Griffin Logue.

The funny thing is ep2006 called all this about 10 minutes into our season in Round 1.

We were never really a chance at a flag this year and accidentally "losing our identity", Rossy Lyon style, would probably have been a good thing in the long run.

There's no way we could have tanked to Freo's extent though

In: Mitchell, Karpany, MacKenzie, Wellingham
Out: LeCras

B: Hurn, MacKenzie, Barrass
HB: Sheppard, McGovern, Duggan
C: Gaff, Priddis, Yeo
HF: Redden, Darling, Sheed
F: Cripps, Kennedy, Petrie
R: Vardy, Shuey, Mitchell
I: Nelson, Cole, Karpany, Jetta, Schofield, Hutchings, Wellingham

LeCras to be the sacrificial lamb. Replaced by Karpany as a sign we're determined to play youth.

People to melt over no Partington, Priddis holding his spot, etc etc.

Schofield, Hutch and Wellingham to miss. Hutch to be held over, and to come in against the Saints when Priddis comes down with a massive bout of soreness.

I don't know much about glandular fever.
How did Heeney recover from it this year in a few weeks?
Is there a varying level of seriousness with glandular fever?

yeah it depends on an individuals immune system for some there are no lasting effects in others its thought to cause chronic fatigue syndrome, sounds like that may be what happened to alex

No chance Parto plays this week given Simmo's statements about him. Perhaps the calls to drop the older players and play Parto will actually increase the club's resistance to it in order to try to prove that that they were wrong.
Yeah, I can't help thinking it is counter-productive in the sense that if they now play him, it will look liked they bowed to the pressure and should have played him earlier. I can see them being obstinate on not playing him for another week or two and bringing in Mutimer and/or Karps.

Got a sneaky feeling Mutimer will be in this week. Parto to miss again.
I'm fine with Mutimer coming in. I liked what i saw from him when he played, he used the ball well but just needs to get more of it.

He probably shouldn't have been dropped after the Essendon loss, either. There were plenty of others who played worse than Mutimer that day. He was actually equal second in clearances for us.

This business with Partington is symptomatic of how far off the reservation we've wandered. It wouldn't surprise me if the great fear now is that he comes in and plays well.

Funny, I thought he didn't use the ball well at all and he copped an injury in that Essendon game he didn't get dropped.

I liked his attack on the footy and deserves another chance.

Looking forward to the melt this arvo it's been a cold day.

I thought he was pretty composed, particularly in the game against the Bulldogs.

I'm pretty sure he was listed as omitted. He played EP's next game (albeit after a bye).
