On The Couch this week had great footage of our players not pressuring or tackling around the ball and hanging back hoping to get easy ball.

We are 16th for pressure this year along with 15th for contested ball.

If Simpson is keeping Parto out for the reasons stated he's essentially a hypocrite, given he won't drop the players responsible for the above numbers.
changing like for like doesn't improve a thing

Giving a kid a chance at the highest level when the senior players are struggling seems common sense to me. We know those senior players won't change their ways. No reason to believe a hard working kid like Parto won't, especially if motivated by opportunity.

If he doesn't play this week against the bottom side then it's just effin' stupidity.

I think it is one of the main reasons he wont drop Priddis. As rubbish as he has been all year he is a battering ram. Partington is too small atm to be a full on contested beast. They can still use him though by concentrating Shuey, Sheed and Redden into the heavy stuff and rotating him through at times. He would be a lot better than Priddis on the HF.

It's not hard to get him into the side.

Give ANY of Cripps/Lecras/Nelson/Petrie a rest. Then shift Yeo to HBF (if Nelson) or rest Priddis as small HFF and trial Parto in the midfield. If he is useless and/or spent by half time you can shift Yeo to midfield (if Nelson) or Priddis to midfield (if Cripps/Lecras) or you've just been playing with one less tall and playing an extra mid off the bench. This ISN'T rocket science. Maybe the extra midfield rotations actually helps the entire team last a little longer into Q4's this year rather than having one massive heartattack as a team everytime it's Q4.

Most teams anyway are structured with 5 forwards and a resting mid (on the team sheet) that usually ends up meaning 7 on-ballers, and 4 forwards.
Nelson doesn't need a rest as he's just come back from injury and last weekend was only his 2nd game back after being out with a hammy.

Priddis could be the best forward pocket. We should trial him there. Doesn't have to move as much. Still gets to tackle. Only if Lecras is dropped though. Otherwise entire forward line would be witches hats.

i think even as a runner hed be inefficient.

I'm just trying to find a way to get him off the ball!!!! I want him dropped. I just can't see them dropping him. So only way to see our 2018 midfield in action is to play him somewhere else that won't mess up our team completely. Forward pocket seems to be already full of ineffective players, so it's the perfect spot where the MC can play him and not drop his ass with the least bad influence on the game.

Picture this. Play him in the square. Get everyone to bomb the ball on his head. He is strong enough to body someone out of the way to mark or they end up with the ball and he turtle tackles them for a stoppage. Its crazy enough to work.

Exactly. As long as Priddis can stay out of the space that JK and Darling need he would actually be better than Lecras or Cripps.

OUT: Lecras, Cripps
IN: Parto, Karpany

Shift Priddis to FP, play Parto in the guts. Rotate Sheed, Redden, Parto as inside mid.

IF it goes to shit, swing Priddis to mid at half time.

Instead of watching mids run around him, we can watch guys like guys like docherty, roberton, shaw, wilson, williams, laird, smith and lever jog past him.
