How would Lachie Hunter go as a small defender on Cameron? He knows the game plan inside-out so suspect can figure out positioning in the zone, is clean at ground level and plenty agile enough. Lacks pure pace to go with Cameron but who doesn’t?
The idea of Hunters flailing arms and legs trying to corral Cameron is the stuff of nightmares. For me.

His strength is his relentlessly running up and down the ground in straight lines and being used as a link up player or filling defensive holes. His biggest weekness' is a lateral agility that is akin to Stonehenge and a pretty ineffective tackle technique.

Let's play him in a position that plays to his strengths, not his biggest weekness.

The best chance we have is for the Lions to play sore players and to hit them hard.

Some teams are stubborn and Brisbane (not so much the last couple of years) have been notorious for playing underdone players. We might be able to run over the top of them if they're hurting more than us in the final quarter and they're short on rotations.

This would be an epic win 2 of our best 5 out Bailey and Tim add Red, Bruce and Doc best 22. I think Hunter plays. The lions on their home deck and we are off a six day break.

One plus is Bevo is a very good back to the wall coach.

We need to put on a strong showing here if we’re serious about 2022. We need to take a few scalps just to play finals, let alone establish ourselves as a contender.

My fear is if we lose this one it might get ugly. If Brisbane get a roll on they will love opening up our sloppy transition defence, which won’t be enhanced by the absence of Duryea and Richards.

Brisbane are a bunch of downhill skiers... surprised how much they're rated

I agree that Hunters only position that suits him is the wing where he can continuously link up but cannot agree about his agility, his agility is absolutely elite and one of the few reasons he’s a good afl player despite a pretty limited skill sets in a lot of ways, think he was one of the best handful ever to test in the agility test in his juniors from memory - and it shows in the way he plays

Im not so sure that its carried through to his senior career. I can recollect the many times where he has been stepped around with ease as he flails his arms and legs like a drunken octopus trying to change direction. With the help of this board, Ive come to accept his inability to kick beyond 40 metres because of the other attributes he brings to the side. However, this is the one thing in his game that constantly does my head in and I cannot be convinced that its otherwise.

It’s different when he has the ball though. His evasiveness is elite. He definitely has the agility.

That might be a knock on his willingness to work as hard defensively as he does when we’re in possession.

Or is he just poor at anticipating what his opponent is going to do, hence the drunken octopus impersonation?

I’m reasonably sure he topped his draft class on the agility test too.

Dunno. I guess it can be both things.

Perhaps its a consequence of how hard he works up and down the ground. But to me its a really glaring issue in his game.

Either way, if Im the only person who thinks this way, then Im ok with that.

Agree with this. This kid is a huge talent, but not ready for AFL. He would be like Bamby thrown to the wolves. Will take a while to develop. Cannot see him playing this year. I also saw Hunter at WO. He looks ready imo. Should be in the side next week.

Needs to put on size and add strength. His dad was similar although probably not as light when drafter. I also hope the ruck/fwd role continues, he’s perfect for it.

Hunter has impressed. Seems to have come back ready to earn his spot straight away, which is great. Would surprise if he’s not included this week.

Hunter and Williams on the wings.

Hunter for Richards with Scott playing the defender role he did well in after Richards went off.

Other alternative is Cleary for Richards and either McComb or Scott for Hunter.

Believe it will be the first option but could also be the second.

Williams and JJ playing well further forward on the ground makes our forward connections work better so would not entertain moving them back.

Unless there is illness or injury no additional change.

If Weightman was to miss it would have been last week, provided he did not re injure his elbow he will play again this week

I don't see us having a chance without English, Bailey Smith, Richards, Wallis etc.
