I think Matera is very poor. May just be confidence but he is the least skilled small forward I have ever seen

seeing some of his efforts in that insipid gold coast team i find that hard to believe, he’s got the talent and i hope he gets back into that

Yeah. He's been awful lately but anyone that watched him for GC in 2017 would be fairly hopeful he can turn it around. It could just be trying to figure out the role he is supposed to be playing for us. Jack Redden looked liked delist material for WC last year and they have somehow made him look more like a superstar this season.

I remember when we traded for him specifically saying that I didn't want him to get a free call up into the side and I wanted to see him string together a bunch of good games at WAFL because he lacks leadership and consistency which is alarming his age.
Then people were trying to tell me he was injured, whatever that meant for all the time he wasn't at Suns.
Look who was right on that one again.

I'm sure he will be vital for us in the long-run, but seriously needs to develop / hone some of his other skills in the seconds. It's better then seeing him run around like a headless chook in a new system at senior level. I really want him to become a leader type once Ballas rolls over but looks far from it.

That's what I thought but Pav suggested he could be ready next week. If Darcy's injury isn't too serious then I would love to see Strads come in. Just let him have a crack once this year.

He made sure to remind us early why he's a shit kick, although in the 2nd he was okay. I think he stays too because of what is forced out (Darcy/Nyhuis) and what little we have to come in.

Nah not to standard for an AFL footballer anymore. Kicked a ball on the full in the 1st that was a simple 20m kick. Done with him, would rather Crowden or Duman play

Nads because he’s probably more ready than Meek - and I reckon we absolutely have to go with two ruckmen; we play like shit with one as more recently evidenced by the Brisbane game.
I desperately want Harley in too but he’s not going to have his return game in Melbourne.
Grey SHOULD come in for Sutcliffe as he offers a fair amount more in the defensive forward role.

Agree with most but Grey is an equally **** kick (if not worse) than Sutty and kicking is really all you can pot Sutty on this week.
We need the second ruckman for the forward presence alone. Any rucking chop out (which Jones will need) is just a bonus.

McCarthy was so so bad. He’s just not fit.
Matera was fumbly and had 3 or 4 chances to snap goals on his left which should be his bread and butter and fluffed all of them.
Those were the 2 very noticeable poor players.
Went to the game and McCarthy just doesn’t work at all.
The only credit I will give McCarthy is that he did fight to bring the ball to ground a few times, but my golly there wasn’t any second efforts.
