like gets 5 touches and does an old man run towards defenders?
Never gets outmarked
Brings ball to ground
Massive defensive pressure and he is a champion and is an absolute must come September
Some on here are showing their complete ignorance in what makes a footballer.
Probably the same people who were calling for Darlings head a few weeks back and singing JK praises.
Wake up you guys.

FMD

He's had 2 quiet games in a row.

Can't even believe we're talking about TBH.

i'll ask it again for the people who just get irrationally angry:

how many quiet games does JK need to have before discussing his spot in the best 22 becomes legitimate?

The answer to this question cannot be "NEVER HE IS BEST EVER PLAY HIM FOREVER"

In some parallel universe where this board can agree on the definition of a quiet game, I'd say 4-5 would be fair. Seeing as we live in this universe though, the answer is "go stick your head in a pig".

I don't really get this line of thinking, I don't see anyone suggesting that he played well against Collingwood so why do we need some objective metric to state exactly when and where a subpar game has been played?

Masten certainly isn't afforded the same privilege on this board

Getting a bit into the silly comments now.
To even suggest that Kennedy’s place in the side is in question is the height of disrespect for a player who is still a champion
As I said previously, if Kennedy was on the market 15 other clubs would still line up to sign him.

do you legitimately think he applied forward pressure against Collingwood?
do you legitimately think he applied forward pressure against Collingwood?

I reckon he tries his arse off every time he crosses the line.
Sure he's getting on and is struggling a bit.

We've got nobody in the reserves who even comes close to him.

No point asking hypotheticals like "if he has 3 more quiet games" TBH.

Not kicking a goal as a full forward and main market target heading inside 50 is a good start, but he's not exactly the best at applying forward pressure either.

Do you think he played well against collingwood?
Never said he did play well against Collingwood, he clearly didn't.
I think he's clearly still trying to recover from being sick, I mean I had man-flu a couple of weeks ago and I didn't get off the couch for 5 days, nevermind playing a game of footy. In retrospect I'd say he shouldn't have put his hand up to play and we should have given him another week to recover.
I don't think he'll get back to his prime but I reckon if he can average a 1.5-2 goals a game for the rest of the year we'd be fairly happy with that, got to remember that we've got a lot more avenues to goal than we used to as well so he's unlikely to kick a bag anyway these days.

so in your mind there is no possibility that a man who is 32 and didn't have a full preseason might ever fall out of form, completely glossing over the fact that i never actually suggested we drop him for the game against melbourne

yes i reckon a lot of players try their arse off whenever they cross the line, i would be actually concerned if he was the only player doing this

i'm sorry my hypothetical offended you

Bit of backpedaling buddy.
An apology in three weeks time will suffice
Not to me but to Kennedy.

I'd suggest Kennedy has a few more runs on the board than Masten wouldn't you?

One is a champion of the game and the other has played 200 games.
