Absolutely! Also, we often have too many of our own players clusterf*ing the pack mark up. Oscar needs more experience in that area. Needs to have a chat with Yeo- he'll set him straight, as he did with Ryan?

With the forward flood back, lots of pressure and little space, it creates fast boot to ball and the chaos ball can work both ways, often a 50/50 opportunity. Can get locked in there like a pinball machine. Maybe why Petch could come into his own with more experience and better accuracy- he's like The Flash slowing time down as he zips around the witches hats...well, it works in comic books?.
Further to that Astro; When we look up coming into the forward line why oh f##cking why do we kick long to the pack.Yes we have good marks but as per the scragging we dont take many. Why dont we grubber the ball to space and let Petrol and Ryan go ballistic.Jk and Ollen are very good below their knees so maybe we need to redefine forward play .Have BIG play LITTLE.

If our Mids can win the ****ing centre ball and get away the clearances and play like we did against Collingwood, we have a great chance at winning. Gonna be great playing on our home turf hopefully our supporters can create a great atmosphere! Providing Rioli plays it will be the small forward combo we have been waiting for, for a long time...

Our mids haven’t been too bad though, from a ball winning perspective. Even in the Port and Geelong games. The problems have been not keeping the ball once we’ve got it and giving away turnovers in bad spots.. i think a lot of the blame is on the forward line too. They let it rebound too quickly.

INS Hickey, Rioli
OUTS Allen, Waterman.

Even more chance of Venners getting mid time.

Friendly reminder that hungrytiger thinks Waterman and Allen will be out, just in case you missed his post yesterday:

Hickey is in for Vardy.
Rioli is in for Waterman.

Or Monday:

Simmo just confirmed Rioli In if he gets through training. Looks like the Wiz is back..

On that news my changes are the same as they were before the game on the weekend.

INS.
Rioli, Hickey
Outs
Waterman, Vardy
Or Sunday:

Out Allen, Waterman
In Hickey, Rioli.

I agree JK will need a rest soon because he could barely get out of a jog last week! But at the same time his two goals in the 3 1/4 were so important.
Im surprised this issue isnt discussed more. I would plan to rest JK intermittently through the season. I get the impression some on here like to flog him every week. Does it take him to injure himself to get a rest. Remember he has had seasons of bad injury before.

It's nice to know he's not just a one-Masten-pony; he can post the same thing again and again about other players too.

He was probably better as a mid in his first year as mid last season. He's also our best best contested mid.

We probably have the match ups for Melbourne even if Schoey goes out this week via injury.

Gov can easily play an accountable role on a tall forward and has done that before.

You can bring in Rotham and he's a pretty decent intercept player already.

Hey mate can you give me some spoilers on the game?

Want to put a bet on and thought you'd seen it already and can let me know who wins??

The thing that I have noticed with JK nowadays (unlike 5+ years ago) is that any time he takes a break, be it injury or rest, he takes a few games to get back into it. We might be better managing game time, or at most, nothing more than a weeks rest. And rest is rest, not WAFL time.

WAFL team been announced and Brander not named. Maybe emergency for A team?
But Hickey has been named. Weird.

Brander, Masten, Smith, Rioli, plus the 22 from the Saints game all missing from the named WAFL side, so presumably that's the 26-man squad.

Vardy and Allen against Gawn and Preuss is frightening to think about. Surely Hickey plays if fit?
