Thats the way ive always believed the saying went too...
It can be said both ways... regardless, it does not work in the tropics, only the subtropics where frontal systems have cirrus clouds ahead of them that refract the light.

We are not a premiership contender so bringing back 3 x 29+ year olds is actually quite pointless. Maybe next week we can bring Sauce, Mackay and Otten in our push for 7th on the ladder.
Lynch is best 22, he only dropped out due to injury and was in good form. No big deal.

Gibbs was harshly dealt with. Had 22 and 2 goals and was dropped due to defensive positioning (we are told). Easy fixed.

Jenkins I understand the commotion but the reasoning is pretty simple. Berg has hit the wall, I don't think anyone can say much otherwise. 1 one thing he lacks in his game is the ability to kick and easy goal..... We know Josh does that well. If JJ doesn't play well in the next couple weeks he drops out again.

I do feel for Jones, I'd have played him and gone a bit smaller and quicker but the other changes are pretty cut and dry.

Himmelberg, Knight and Jones were all poor and deserved to be dropped or rested. I feel this is last chance saloon for Jenkins and Gibbs. We need to see whether Jenkins is worthwhile keeping or trading. If we are trading him we need to build his market price to other clubs. Gibbs we cant trade unless powaa want him. I agree we have no chance of winning a flag this year. Lets get over this tough period then blood mchenry, stengle, mcadam and get jones back in when in form. Then maybe we can get some finals experience for these kids which will be invaluable.

He can't be fit. A 'monty' selection over his 200 game career and now in career best form he is dropped? Don't believe it.
He wouldn't be an emergency if he was unwell.

I reckon this goes back to my statement after R1. If Seeds, Milera and Smith were all fit for that game he wouldn't have played. They picked him last week but realised their error.

I only know the shepherds one too, and my dad was in the navy, so I reckon if that was the saying, I’d have known about it!
There are variations of the phrase, some including the plural word "sailors":

Red sky at night, sailors' delight.[1]
Red sky at morning, sailors' warning.
Another version uses the word "shepherds":

Red sky at night, shepherds' delight.
Red sky in the morning, shepherds' warning.

The ox is slow but the earth is patient.

We are not gelling right now, but I wouldn't be giving up the season just yet. This is a winnable game, and when Matt Crouch comes back we will have a strong team. If we start to gel a top four finish is attainable.

If we lose the next two matches .......then it's time to select for 2020.

If there is ever a year you could justify it, the year you don't have your first round pick is it, as there is no benefit to losing.

Though, I too am pretty lukewarm on these selections just as Jenkins should really have been frozen out, though, potentially it's a good lesson for Himmelberg about not letting a sucker take your place.

Good point. Unfortunately I think Tex will be he biggest loser from having Jenkins back in the forward line.

Bloody hell, how’s Rory Atkins still hanging out on a wing at AFL level after the crap he’s served up
He's an outside midfielder whose job it is is to not get sucked into contests like every other midfielder we have. People complain that Mackay tries to tackle and gets swatted away easily, so they have Atkins do the old Craigy "implied pressure" thing. His tackle and pressure numbers are around the same mark as every other heavily outside player in the league. We've gone to a higher contested style, so of course he's not going to look as good.

Where did your source the data from, Unless you did the calculations yourself, in which case you would have added Keath,
but it seems it's Champion data 2019 best defenders and they source the last 40 games. for points to get their ratings.
That is also present in a post I wrote, in the last page or two, but let me repeat for your benefit

It is from the afl player ratings twitter.

He couldn't be any worse than Saturday.

I reckon we will get 1 good week out of JJ before he reverts to form.

Because the peanuts in charge of Melbourne are pushing Brayshaw to a flank so we can accommodate an over the hill Nathan Jones back into the centre as he can't play anywhere else.

Way to make effective use of your assets
This sounds incredibly familiar. Nice to see Goodwin is driving that Crows' culture elsewhere

Also by nature of being heavily outside, you are going to be somewhat flaky performance wise, unless you have a seriously good midfield behind you.

Atkins is a really good, and in equal parts, a really frustrating 17-22 piece in a side. Capable of setting the world on fire if he gets off the chain, but lacks the contested side to not be a burst player.

Wow...so Tex gets a game.

That’s interesting.
I assumed it was a typo on the team sheet and he's actually been sent back to Div 7 amateur league

And he's not alone in the league being like that. People here wishing for Henderson to come back, well, I hate to tell ya...
