I’m pretty confused about the Jenkins v Himmelberg situation now. Elliott probably can’t play next week after that. The confidence is gone when flying for marks now, you can see it.

I’d probably prefer Fog over either of them but I worry about the ruck chop-outs (cos LOL, Jenkins is great at those isn’t he ). Maybe we give Josh another crack and see if he’s learnt his lesson and can regain his form from last year. I really don’t know. Feels like a lose-lose.

Knight is the most vanilla player going around. Must not be selected again any time soon. Last player selected. First out. Bye.

Gallucci, while solid in the first half, literally did nothing after the main break. I’m over giving him chances. He’s a monumental 1st round bust, and simply not good enough at ANYTHING to be selected each week considering the likes of McHenry, Stengle and Davis are not getting games at all, and Gibbs is also struggling to get in. Doesn’t kick goals. Doesn’t tackle pretty much anyone. Doesn’t provide much of anything. Anyone who thinks McHenry would provide less in the same role is kidding themselves.

Murphy is on very thin ice. Lacks polish. Does not impact enough contests. Would drop.

Jones needs to lift - he was off the ground for a long time in the 2nd half so not sure if there was an injury there. He stays in though because he spent some time on Liam Ryan after 1/4 time and really shut him out of the game after Ryan looked like he may rip us apart early. Jones’ defensive stuff looks great, it’s just going forward where he needs to improve. I sense it’s coming soon.


So assuming M Crouch is fit, and Lynch is not fit, I would go...

I’m fully aware that in reality, Mackay will come straight back in because how could we possibly not select his Royal Mediocrity, and also that neither of Stengle or McHenry are any hope of coming in because ewww why do that, so whatever.

I agree, I'm just saying if Pyke wants to play Jones and Himmelberg and that's it then its wasteful. As you said, there is tremendous upside if we get it right too.

I don't think he has been terrible. But he looks sore. Stengle has shown some really good signs. I wouldn't play Eddie in the 2's I'd just give him a spell.

Want to see Davis get a game. Been training with Lynch as a link man. Likely to have McAdam go past him next year/later this year. This could be the best chance to see what he's got.

Agreed. Posters are whinging about the game being lost at selection "Jenkins... Gibbs... yadda yadda", but the big one for mine was replacing Lynch with a winger and then assuming that that very same winger could play Lynch's role. Seedsman is not a forward FFS, he's the best f'ing winger we've got. WTF were we doing. He's either fit enough to play, in which case he's on the wing, or he's not.

We missed a massive opportunity to bring in either Davis (whom is a natural Lynch replacement) or Fogarty and go with a more traditional marking 3rd tall. Either way, we had no marking presence whatsoever, which both these players would have provided. Instead we continued to bomb it long and wide to Murphy and Betts whilst we were playing against the best intercept side in the business.

That would be a good start, but Hartigan & Kelly need to be phased out too.

Sadly at least one needs to play. Otten's not the answer, nor is Fogarty and Butts isn't ready. Not a lot else to go on there.

Eddie has played over 300 games. Even Andy McLeod after 300 games declined quickly. The end comes for everyone. Get Stengle, McHenry and McAdam in. They wont let you down.

I'd play 2 of the 3 at once, rotate them through as Shane in particular won't last much more.

Don't get the Eddie despair though, he was as up and about as ever tonight and last week.

Had a stinker yep, but it shouldn't be up to a 20yo in his 6th game to win it. If he does that's great, but I'd rather some of our senior guys step up for him.
