I would keep playing him if it means we don't see him at all next year. Another 3 or 4 games against top 8 sides should do it.

He'll be coming up against Phil Davis and Dylan Grimes in the lead up to the bye.

Every chance he will end up with more clangers than possessions in those games.

Himmelberg needs a spell, if Jenkins is the depth to cover that spell so be it. Perhaps he will do more to keep his spot than Himmelberg.

EH looks like he needs a spell. Not sure I’d go with JJ though, nothing wrong with giving Fog a go and conceding 2nd ruck with an extra midfielder. Put a GD bib on ROB and tell him he’s not allowed inside our 50 arc unless he’s already got ball in hand.

He's another late pick battler. We have no shortage of them, and we have a lot of first round picks in the SANFL.

How many of those first round picks are KPFs that can compete in the ruck? Your hatred of EH is ridiculous, yes he’s hit the wall, but he’s been good for us and very clearly has a future. Apart from beating up on short people last week, JJ’s form in the 2s was bog average as well. I’d go with Fog and a plan B for relief ruck. JJ needs to perform in the 2s against decent opposition.

Agreed. Posters are whinging about the game being lost at selection "Jenkins... Gibbs... yadda yadda", but the big one for mine was replacing Lynch with a winger and then assuming that that very same winger could play Lynch's role. Seedsman is not a forward FFS, he's the best f'ing winger we've got. WTF were we doing. He's either fit enough to play, in which case he's on the wing, or he's not.

We missed a massive opportunity to bring in either Davis (whom is a natural Lynch replacement) or Fogarty and go with a more traditional marking 3rd tall. Either way, we had no marking presence whatsoever, which both these players would have provided. Instead we continued to bomb it long and wide to Murphy and Betts whilst we were playing against the best intercept side in the business.
They were assuming it was going to be very wet and went small believing marking options were going to be less relevant. What they didn't count on was the rain stopping and west coast players marking everything themselves

Welcome to Adelaide Elliott, it's all your fault.

Had a stinker yep, but it shouldn't be up to a 20yo in his 6th game to win it. If he does that's great, but I'd rather some of our senior guys step up for him.

I reckon if Lynch plays tonight we win the game.
I think we missed mat crouch more. We were always a bit light in the contest and he would have helped big time

I absolutely hate that we dropped knight and then brought him in with last minute injuries after an average sanfl game. Mc Henry has earned the right for a go
Yes I don’t get that either. Plays two ripper SANFL games earns travelling emergency, then doesn’t even get picked in emergencies the next week, with a SANFL bye and they bring back in a player that they dropped for poor form that played OK in the SANFL, but no where near to the level of McHenry????

We should have won the game anyway.

Himmelberg was terrible by the end of it. You put Gibbs and Jenkins in that side for Himmelberg and Knight and we win by a mile.

Who is Melbourne using as their 2nd ruck?

Preuss is an emergency, might be back next week.

A quick look back through the last few team sheets suggests a lot of rotating - Tim Smith, Declan Keilty, Tom McDonald, Sam Weideman all have hitouts in varying games, last week was just Tim Smith.

I'm convinced Knight is a player of limited mental capacity. He has the tools, but can only focus on one thing at a time.

Everyone has complex multidimensional roles in modern football except maybe in the tagging role, which is why he probably does best there.

He needs to be set a very simple task or I wouldn't play him.

I thought our midfield was ok, the bits we lacked Matt doesn't really provide. He's just a better version of what we have.

Mackay and Matt will definitely be ins - So two need to come out - Jones and Knight.

Berg needs a rest - was surprised they played him tbh. But also cripes, the kid can play, those giving up on him now need their heads read - So JJ in for him.

I would drop Tex, but that won't happen.

I would drop RAt for Ned, but doubt that will happen.

Keep Jones in, drop Gallucci IMO.

JJ gets 2 weeks to find form, Berg gets a spell.

I'd also find a way to squeeze Stengle in

We had a lot of possession from he mids but they did not hurt after 1/2 time. Cornes will have a field day again showing how easily Shuey got the ball out of centre.

Again, I'm not sure Matt helps that.

In a contested game where delivery to forwards was pretty average only the true believers would state as fact that JJ would have been a difference maker. Gibbs maybe, but his numbers have been fine, so there’s obviously something that they’re pretty unhappy about. We’d have won the game anyway had we not butchered 3-4 gettable last quarter shots on goal.
