If it was me, I'd drop Atkins, CEY, Gallucci, Knight, Murphy for Mackay, Crouch, Jenkins, Lynch and McHenry.

Gibbs needs a couple of weeks before we bring him back, though I firmly believe he's best 22.
CEY? you serious? He’s the one positive at the moment. Slowly turning into a beast

Not really a selection issue but a good story on doedee doing some work at bedford industries on footy SA last night. Worth a watch. Seems a genuinely top bloke and as long as we can keep him has captain material written all over him.

How's marty36 going to go when Doedee is our next premiership captain?

He has had more than 1 poor game this year!

In 2019, Tex has played all 10 games. 6/10 games one goal or less. In 4 out of those 6 games, the Crows lost.

He has scored 1 goal in TOTAL against the Hawks (goalless), Cats, (1 goal) and Eagles (goalless). Thats not even counting the bath that Pearce from Freo gave him where he scored 1 goal.

A pattern maybe? In his last 18 games for the AFC, he has scored 1 goal or less in 13/18 games.

Hawks kept him goalless in his last two games, Cats (2 goals in his last two), Freo (2 goals in 2 games) Giants (1 goal in 1 game) Tigers (1 goal in one game) and his effort on Sunday, goalless.

Incidentally, in that sequence of 18 games, when he has not played, which is in 3 of them. The Crows won 3/3,

In his last 8 games in 2018, he scored 1 goal or less in 7/8. When Tex has scored 1 goal or less, the Crows have lost 5/7.

Mate you are delusional if you think a loose defender will ever be captain who doesn't have a great leg or is as penetrating as the likes of smith or laird that runs around picking off the easy ball as keath did earlier this year

A priority for the crows is to try and get Luko or an equivalent young player asap. Feel Fog and Berg should be good but need some backup.

In the last 4 weeks prior to the Eagles game.

Crows have played the Suns, Saints, Freo, Port and Lions.

Their respective finishes at the COMPLETION of the 2018 season were, Suns came 17th,16th, 14th, 10th and 15th.
Are you really that simple? Or are you just being deliberately obtuse?

What on earth has a teams 2018 finish got to do with this year?

Who cares where Brisbane finished last year. This year they are a top 6 side, 1 game out of 3rd.

Saints and Port are on the exact same points as Hawthorn, but we ignore his performances against 2 of those sides, and just focus on 1 of them.

It’s just an insane analysis

Would Greenwood be any less effective than Himmelberg as deep forward/2R? I still rate Himmelberg as a long term prospect but short term this could open up another spot for a running player.

Greenwood had a pretty good game last week but M Crouch will return to take a lot of his midfield time.

Could have a front rotating 7 of Lynch, Greenwood, Betts, Stengle, McHenry, Fogarty, Walker (with McAdam to replace one of the latter two when fit enough to give an even better balance/athleticism).

Are you referring to all those times Murphy has missed targets by foot?
No, I'm referring to the forward pressure and goals he is kicking. If you want to drop players for poor disposal (which is fair enough), there'd be a long list to choose from.
Goals I can remember from poor skill errors
McKay
Talia
Atkins
Hartigan
Laird

1) Lachie Neale destroyed us as well. We dont man up or tag the opposition matchwinner.
2) Our midfield stoppage positioning is wrong at times ... and some of our mids don't chase defensively.
3) ROB has periods where he gets dominated. He is learning so to be expected.
4) Poor disposers in back half. Kelly, Talia, Hartigan, Laird. Turnover kings at times.
5) Forward structure and lack of contested marking. Ben Hart's department.
6) Gibbs and Jenkins the fall guys imo and worse players seemingly immune.
7) Back in wrong players. Knight, Atkins, Gooch.
8) I like Jones but Mchenry was in better form until not played for a month. Where is he? Where is Stengle when we need goals?
Good points, thanks:
1) Yes! In both games I was stunned to see Neale, then Shuey/Gaff run rampant through or around our flat-footed mids. It looked like our mids just stop when the unmanned oppo take possession.
2) Yes, again. Look at our Match 'highlights' in the second half --- Shuey or Gaff get the ball and hare around L or R then forward to deliver to high-marking Kennedy. That's about INTENT. They take off, we freeze.
3) ROB needs a bit more of a rest, but his support (EH) is spindly/scrawny and lacks a tank, too. Could we play Sauce and ROB in the same team?
4) Hartigan and Kelly (and Talia last week) give away far too many easy goals from poor kicking straight to opponents, or not wide enough coming out of the D50.
5) Tex can take a pack mark, contrary to what anti-Tex posters claim, but goes up with one hand too much (is the other being held? ;)) plus oppo defence has learned how to block his run at the ball. Greenwood too has great hands, but that's about it.
6) JJ had to be dropped, and we don't know what Pyke has said to him that he needs to do much better, maybe positioning and defensive effort? Gibbs is an enigma --- either I read somewhere or maybe it was on Talking Footy, not sure, that his poor defensive positioning cost us 3 goals last game. Can anyone verify please?
7) Knight, not doing well enough imo. Atkins is good for at least 2 ootf and kicks to oppo chests going forward; kicks the odd good goal but his tackling is weak and I can't remember ever seeing him bump someone off the ball. I GET that he's an outside runner, but that's all he seems to want to do. Gooch, I just don't know why he's still in the side with 8) McHenry and Stengle untried.

The only issue is we don't have another ruck who can go into the square...who are the 2nd rucks for other teams?

Almost every player in the team has cost goals, lets be oinest now, its just the timing of the goals is what is pissing some posters off

Greenwood certainly short for a 2R but has a massive wingspan so really the difference isn't as great.

It's not ideal, and from next year hopefully Himmelberg is the man but, like Richmond in 2017, perhaps we just need to work with what we've got.

ROB should just play a little more old school in the back half of the ground in addition to centre bounce to conserve energy and we use a makeshift ruck in the front half.

lol. I love how you get upset with facts. Thank you.

Here is a another fun fact Im throwing at you.

Brisbane has the same number of wins and losses in 2019 after R10 as Port did this time last year. Port finished 10th.

You are getting so salty when I post and Im not even quoting you lol.

The Greenwood option has been suggested by others including myself
The Berg needs a rest.
Tex should play a lot deeper

Crouch is a bit iffy to get up this week

Been below par for two years.

Its unfortunate, but you are correct. He has been a champion of the Club, but I think his days of beating the top defenders of the competition are over.

I was a bit suprised by this fact I heard if I heard correctly on the footy shows last night, that Tex has never been in the Top 3 in the B&F at the Crows, nor has he ever been an All Australian.

I actually expected Greenwood to have played up forward against the Lions a couple of weeks back, had a monster game last year where we won and he kicked 4 goals.

IMO he is the best best contested pack mark in our team.

NOTE: Tex did not play against the Lions last year where we won.

We need a player of Luko's potential quality more than a lot realise.

When Tex's best well behind him, JJ to be traded and Berg still raw, we lack tall forward options. I mean Fog needs the chance to play before the weight of expectation is placed on him to carry our forward line.

Tex can still possibly play a role in this and for the team. He takes the best defender but we go to Fog/(Ber/JJ) instead for our goal scoring options.
