Talia below Dougall ****ing Howard on that list. He's fallen a long way since his AA years.

We need to be looking for a replacement in the trade/draft period this year, as he only has 1-2 years left tops.
Agree. There was an SA lad the club wanted last trade period which some other club just pipped us. A key back with some pace that can kick well under pressure is an imperative. Doedee will replace Kelly but need replacements for Hartigan and Talia.

West Coast using Oscar Allen to push wide and take Keath out of the play was absolutely brilliant strategy by them.
We could have moved Keath up forward in the last as he can take a mark. One of the few Graham Cornes suggestions I agree with.

So it appears Crouch and lynch ready to go, probably knocks gibbs out of selection

would appear it would be

Ins Crouch Lynch Mackay (JJ Maybe)
Outs Jones Gooch Knight (EH Maybe)

Uh ? Burton ?
Where was our club interested ?
There was only 1 person guaranteed on this board that would have been interested
Hell he was thrown to Port in the deal.
Didn’t even know himself he was up for trade

This is the stuff the Eagles do so damn well. Along with shepherds/blocks around stoppages and especially in marking contests, plus their leading patterns.

Was in the draft I meant. Wasn't talking about Burton.

Sorry you did say trade.
So who are you referring to in the draft ?
Edit: I see this has been asked

While we have you, could you give some insight into the likely weather for the night and what to expect?

Thanks.

Champion Data works on the last 40 games, Keith has not played enough games to get on the list of top defenders. he only played 22 games,
It one of the reasons you can leave yourself open when using champion data to support a discussion.
Well now it makes sense, because Keath is definitely right up there.

I already have and you liked my post
:)

Those asking about our Darwin weather for Saturday’s game

Forecast 20 -31 Deg C
No rain
Hottest part of the day 2-4pm
During match around 26/27 Deg C
Will be a light breeze 10-15 kms

On weather apps type in Marrara or Darwin Airport
I’m adverse to humidity for southerners it will be noticeable
At home this morning I had my tracksuit on as it was 17 Deg C :)

This player was?

Soooo Melbs to get a swag of players back this week.

Well of course.

"The Demons should be boosted by a swag of returning players, including Michael Hibberd, Christian Salem, Steven May, Alex Neal-Bullen, Kade Kolodjashnij and Sam Weideman, which will help their cause enormously."

I doubt May and KK will come straight back into the AFL team.

Salem is a good in, but I'm not worried about ANB, Weidemann and Hibberd. The form of those three have hardly set the world alight.

Surely they can't make six changes? Unless they figure they've been so crap this year, why not swing the changes and get their First XXII players in asap.

Jez McLennan. Pick 23. 185cm intercepting. defender.
Strange move then to trade our Pick 19 [Liam Stocker] if we seriously were into McLennan who is NOT a key back but a slowish medium defender, a role we have plenty of cover for.

McLennan DOES NOT replace Talia or Hartigan's roles even in your wildest dreams.

Hope they do.

6 players in their first game back after injury up there in the heat.

Would help us rather than hinder I expect

In case you missed it, I mentioned above that chart is 2019 only data.

It is one of the reasons you can leave yourself open when failing to actually read what people have posted before criticising them.

Talia has visibly dropped his quality this year.

But that list could also be a byproduct of how Talia, Hartigan and Keath work as a team.

Our overall points against is 3rd on 713. Behind Geelong and Freo.

I personally think our backline works as one of the best in the league

Agreed. Cripes how the wind changes around here ... Talia was an absolute beast against the Paer. Revered by all after the game.

And ... are we judging players on their "AFL Ranking Points" now? Really?.

It's almost as bad as when people use draft points to determine pick value.

From a Melbourne point view, the only certainty so far to return is Salem who's actually been one of our rare players who has improved. Having a very nice season.
Mitch Hannan has boarded the flight off 1 VFL game so he won't contribute much if selected.
Hibberd's the other quality player who may be back. I know someone above mentioned he's having a rubbish season, but did get coaches votes V's Hawks (rd 7) and then followed up with a good first half V's GC before hurting his collarbone.
Weideman may be an in but he takes about 2 marks a game and 1 goal if he's lucky so he won't be an issue for you blokes.

Let's be honest fellas, if you can't beat Melbourne who almost have the worst percentage in the league.....
