Changes vs Melbourne

Let's give Barlow the start and go Palmer as sub.

The rate we are going with injuries we can't have those two on at the same time... ;)

This.

But seriously, I wouldn't be so hastey to bring Palmer in just yet, let him play some more midfield time for Easts. Lord knows he won't be doing it for Freo. I'd be content to see Barlow come in for Mundy for the only change.. Hoping that Ballas, Mayne & Keps come up okay.

Why do people want Hinkley out? Earned a starting 21 pos. For me.
From all reports Barlow seems fit enough to start and possibly play the full match. Hopefully umpires know who is and he gets the Brownlow votes he deserves... 9 games should translate to about 25 votes:D

Melbourne were pathetic today. It's either great news for us, or we have to be very careful.

Obviously Mundy is out, now news that Ballas is 2-weeks with a hamstring (did we manage him correctly? he's been out-of-sorts anyway - did he not have confidence in his body perhaps?).

IN: Barlow, Palmer, Mellington
OUT: Mundy, Ballas (someone for Mellington if anyone is sore, not sure who deserves to be dropped. Not that Crichton was bad or anything but I just want to see Mellington get a game and can't think of any others).

They may wait till we get a home game though. Would be OK if the only changes were Barlow and Palmer coming in for the injured boys.

Out : Barra, Ballas
In : Barlow, Son Son

And if it is all rainy and yuk ;

Clarke out too and Palmer in - But only if its YUK!

:P

Has Walters done enough to be selected ? I know he was both injured and then suspended after his 2nd game back - not sure how he went in those two games.

To my mind - it's Barlow and Palmer, perhaps with Mzungu in the forward pocket doing the Ballantyne role ?

I was thinking more like for like than anything Boatman, but perhaps Sonny needs a wafl week yes

YES YES YES Sepp's...
Me and the Mrs will be there!

Finally making it to a game this year.... no Army this week so I can not wait !

Rain, hail or shine we'll be there!!

I'm in Vic so was going off the WAFL stats and articles so just my opinion, but 34 disposals and a goal assumed he was one of the sharks best? Would be good to get your thoughts on where he is at and what they think of him at East Freo?

As posted in another thread, he tried hard all day and did some good things, but his disposal into the fwd line let him down imho. I'm not sure what specific areas the coaches want him to work on, but I did notice Simon Loyd was at the game on Saturday.......For mine he wouldn't be an automatic inclusion based on that game, but I suspect he'll come into the team for balla regardless.

In; Barlow

Out; Barra

If Ballas is out then bring in Rhys as a midfielder and swing Tendai forward as Ballas' replacement and see how he goes. He got a couple yesterday and seems to be one of those types who has the ability to put himself in the right spot at the right time.Otherwise keep it unchanged with Hinkley as the sub..

Plz Dont call him Barra, when i hear that name all i think of is that fat freo hating #### on 7.

Out
Mundy, Ballantyne, Clarke/Keps

In
Barlow, Mellington/Walters, Palmer

Wow 1st time since about rnd 2 i havent included MJ in the outs.

Reason for changes
2 injured replaced by same type of players.
We cant carry 3 ruckman.
The weirdest thing is since we have brang in Clarke, Keps has spent less time forward an more time rucking.
We cannot have Keps up forward, another ruck up forward an another ruck rucking.
So Clarke or Keps must make way for a midfield/running player.

jesse was very solid yesterday and was involved in a crucial bit of play in the last q when essendon were still pressing and were charging through the middle looking to get within 3 goals with 7 or 8 minutes to go. crichton put in a good tackle; followed that up with a bit of a spoil on a rushed handpass, then got a quick precise possession to tendai (I think) who banged it down to our forward line and the bombers charge was snuffed out. Well done on the follow up efforts Jesse. Can't see him being dropped.

Hopefully if Hinkley stays in (he should) and is the sub again, he really makes it his own (ala Breust at the Hawks).

He's got the speed, put everything else together and he'd inject some real uumpf into our side in the 4th quarter..

What's up with son-son?? Seems to be struggling in the head department. For anyone who is in the know is he in a Clayton collard sort of space or just lazy? High hopes for him and hope he can get is act together

We have a few choices;

Barlow a certainty for mine.

Then i would be happy with any of Roberton, Bucovaz, Mellington, JVB or Palmer to be selected. Not necessarily in that order. An outside chance of Hayden playing his first game as substitute.
