i don't agree with mitchell and ar chee but butcher is clearly not ready to be counted on in the coaching panels eyes , only round 3 , lots of time for butch to brake into the team and become the forward for the next decade we are desperate for

I was at the South game on Friday night. Butch did some nice things, took a couple of big marks and kicked a bag of goals. He also had some moments where he spudded up terribly with some horrible shots on goal. Appeared to lose confidence late and instead of having a shot on goal from 45m out, he handed it off to a player in a rather congested situation. Overall I'd say it was a solid performance, but kicking and confidence still remain an issue and I think the difference between him being picked in the Power or the Magpies.

This team isn't all that different to the one that won us a lot of games last year. The core 18 besides an injured Lobbe are all there. Swap Ryder with Lobbe it is basically the same core side. We are pretty much arguing about the 19th to 22nd players, none of whom have stamped themselves as regulars. I'm not sure with this mass disillusionment with selection has come from? Ah Chee and Krakeour have been given their chance to impress. Young should be getting a game almost every week. Mitchell runs all day. I don't mind these selections at all.

Just watched the Ah Chee video, good on him.

Hopefully he can take this opportunity with both hands and show why the coaches selected him.

Krakouer replacing Impey (inj): No brainer

Young replacing Neade (omit): No brainer

Mitchell replacing Cornes (rest): Yeah okay, like for like. Would've preferred Moore

Ah Chee replacing Redden (omit): big surprise structurally and individually. Would've preferred Butcher to stretch North's wounded defence. Trengove could back up Ryder who has to ruck alone against one of the best in Goldstein, with Westhoff swinging back to bulwark our defence while Ryder has a spell.

Seems to be a deviation from the long term plan - that we were prepared to throw a guy who has barely played footy in 2 years in for.

We all know that the BigFooty sponsor dinner last year turned Brendon Ah Chee's career around so I think it's great he is making his debut and as one of the dinner attendees I shall take my fair share of credit. Go get em Arch you good thing.

Great to see the Krak Attack back, terrific story and an enormous talent.

Hope Mitch gives us plenty of run and good to see Youngy's hard-nosed blue collar work ethic back.

Pity Lobbe didn't come up but Ryder should be running into some fitness now. Butch keep knocking on the door.

Yeah anyone with the last name Ah Chee has some form of Chinese heritage. Brendan in his early draft interviews said he was 1/4 Chinese.

I didnt know this, can't find anything that says he is.. where'd you find this out. Not doubting it, just cant find anything on his heritage.
