Tabs probably deserved a go before Kersten..in saying that Kersten is still an upgrade over McCarthy. McCarthy has been putrid since the eagles game. Having pings from 65m, getting in the way of other players, colliding with players. Fwd half should function better without him.

Excuse the intrusion. How many players on your list have you guys played this year? It seems like you guys have blooded a shit load of youth and have had quite a few debutants recently. They're playing reasonable football too.

Doesn't deserve any more opportunities, I've defended him in the past but he's a nothing player and his lack of effort is visible every game he plays. Maybe we are tanking.

I think it's fair every player has a decent playing block in a season like this so they can be fairly evaluated for the short and long-term. I think this weekend will be 5 or 6(?) games for Sheridan which I think is enough considering he's shown absolutely nothing.

It's why I'm frustrated re; Taberner situation. Kersten and McCarthy are clearly poor right now yet we're not giving Taberner his entitled playing block in the seniors. I just want to be able to have the list fairly analyzed at seasons end. It's mind boggling that I'm more confident in Cox than both McCarthy and Kersten yet they get given games earned by doing nothing and now that we have the opportunity to play Taberner HOW HE SHOULD BE PLAYED we're still not playing him.

Suban has been working hard. He reminds me of McPhee a few years ago. He would look after the young blokes and belt anyone who touched them. He belted a saints player at etihad one year, flipping awesome. Saw Suban doing something similar this week.

Pretty good. Most of those that haven't played are either injured or are rookies and we have no spots to upgrade them. Strnadica and Duman look a little light to debut this year.

Taberner played 17 games last season including a run of 15 games in a row, it's not like he has never been given a decent chance in the side. Picking someone that has been as ordinary as Kersten obviously means rightly or wrongly that Ross does not rate Taberner whatsoever.

How do you tank, while not looking like your tanking is the only thing that I can come up with.

Same with Blakely last week, words could have been said, a first warning and caution on his employee file along with a threat to tell his mum - but we sidelined him. The argument is that you don't play Tabs because he individually is not up to it, which is true to a large extent. But it's like not playing a ruck at all because your ruck is the 18th best in the competition and you lose all ruck contests instead of lose most of them but make a lot of the opponents work average/good instead of good/excellent, along with no added benefits such as a tall target on the boundary when no one has gotten separation for a defensive kick out etc.

Happy to see Hill back, hopefully he's all good now and glad Blakely has learned his lesson. Also stoked to see Freo repay the faith in Mr Deluca, and look forward to his comeback.

And yeah my buddy... his inclusion doesn't even structurally make sense. We have what - 2 games in Darcy and 2-3 games in Cox and we're bringing in a 3rd/4th position forward instead of a KPF who can provide massive support to Darcy in the ruck.

Every media outlet discusses our forward line as being non-existant, and we're pitching Kersten and a second-gamer in Cox, plus no resting ruck. Even with someone like Logue/Crozier thrown forward it's so inexperienced and dead-average.

Taberner's time at AFL level is clearly done - it just seems like we pick players based on the stats sheet by adding the 'only multiple goal-kicker' in Kersten.

Look from the outer there is no doubt that I would have picked him over Kersten but as many lame excuses as you want to make for Taberner he has been given a decent run in the side before. Ross as someone that works and trains with him for many hours every week for years obviously does not rate him, maybe I'm mad but I think I'll back his judgement here.
