I know I'm pretty critical of McCarthy on here but hopefully those two weeks off can clear his mind a bit and help with his fitness. I want him to do well but he has been a serious liability these last couple of months. It's not even because of how he's being played in the structure, he is consistently making basic skill errors all the time and looks lost on the ground.

Taberner is going to come in and hopefully he can put together a strong two weeks to hold his spot. Would be wrapped if McCarthy comes in a bit more rejuvenated and can find some form behind Taberner ending the year positively.

Wonder if the leaders and Ross will boot Brady for the lack of discipline. Love his intent but stupidity should not be encouraged.

Sandi-> Tabs
Cam-> Blakely
Sherro -> Nyhuis
Brady -> Shill

Not sure how we get Deluca back in. I think he should be somehow. I bet we didn't expect Subes to go so well.

Interesting what Pav said pre game re Lyon,selection,game plan and leadership group.
Reckons Lyon would have put the decisions re Connor and Hodor playing squarely on the leadership group's agenda.
Lyon had said that for team balance Hodor needed to be dropped, but for integrity of selection he couldn't be.Pav reckons it's the leadership group who get fed many of these selection and game plan conundrums to come up with a solution.
Bit of insight and yet another testimony to the respect players maintain for Lyon's insight and style.
Be interesting to see if Tabs gets a guernsey this week.
There's a lot of fire in the playing group at the minute and if that was to rub off on Tabs it could only be a good thing:cool:;)

Can people stop calling him Hodor.

(1) It's a stupid name (2) it infers Darcy is a stupid animal who can't do anything else (3) He looks nothing like Hodor.

And if the players are really deciding who is to play than Ross has lost the plot. Would explain why Ballas and Mayne couldn't get dropped.

Hodor was his nickname at high school

From what I understand he's not much a fan of the name himself.

I think you've got it here. No one for Deluca to make way for really - I don't want Grey to be dropped but there's a few guys outperforming him at present.

Croz?

IN: Taberner Blakely Kersten Nyhuis
OUT: Sandi Sheridan McCarthy ???

I think the first 3 are pretty much a lock and I'm confident Nyhuis will get a debut, but not sure who the 4th out is. Probably Logue or Ryan. If Hilly is fit it gets even more complicated - Grey or Croz might be in some trouble? Suban will be safe. Tucker too hopefully. Interesting times ahead.

I like this line up , but I think nyhuis debut can be delay , don't mind grey to play one or two peel match to get back to rhythm .

I think Grey and Croz will be in a lot of trouble over the coming weeks with all of Deluca/Balic/Langdon/Bennell pressing for selection. Fierce competition for those HF spots.

My strategy is for both to play enough game (eligible) and help peel to final series. A lot of people here think peel is a step down (meima peel thing ) but I think differently ,blakely,langdon ,Hughes all benefit from their involvement playing wafl . Liam Jones also benefit time in VFL as a defender. Logue development look a lot like Ethan last year .( Occasionally deer in the headlight) . sending him back and play as forward might help his development.

Please God no! He was really, really REALLY terrible on the weekend for Peel. I think if we are going to send guys back to Peel to find form let's keep them there until they do. I'd rather play Tabs, Cox and Fyfe as our marking forwards with Tabs relieving Darcy in the ruck. We have lots of guys who can come in to strengthen the midfield to allow Fyfe to play forward.

Conditions should have somewhat suited Kersten on Saturday with his big body against WAFL players but he absolutely squibbed it with 6 possessions for the game. I think he could be an excellent 3rd forward for us, but let's give him the message that he won't be gifted games just because he is a tall forward.

Believe me, it's a prediction not a personal wish. Agree with everything you've written and I hope I'm wrong.

Thoroughly agree

Can't believe nobody is suggesting The Fist comes in to play forward in Cam's place.

North Melbourne will be missing Macmillan, Waite and Williams this week.

The bastards are cheating worse than we are.

Following on from last week's Blakely 'omission', this week I'll be watching for:

Neale: Didn't wash his car - out for one week.
Son Son: Didn't mow his lawn - out for one week (got Jim's Mowing to do it for him - out for two weeks).
