I agree. But let's be honest, Smack can't ruck full time and offers no more than Jacobs around the ground and Graham isn't AFL standard is any universe.

People thinking Jacobs has been rubbish doesnt make it so.

Jacobs has had a shocking year by his standards, but he is still a far better footballer than Smack. Don't let ridiculous bias blind your vision.

I know everyone is hanging on my view of Jacobs,
I think he doesn't offer a lot around the ground. He still doing well in the actual ruck but simply isn't doing the hard running to provide an extra option. In the Port game I saw him do a bit more then he has. Maybe he is turning it around, bit late for this season though. I think all the selectors would tell you he would have been dropped if they felt they had someone to replace him. Smack is very good around the ground but falls down in the actual ruck a bit more then Jacobs, that would explain why Jacobs gets the nod.
The selectors view would be to win the ruck first and foremost.

I dunno, going through this thread reminds me of the parents of players in my cricket team all having a whinge to me about why there son isn't playing in the finals
Crows site says shaw has been playing on heavy decks and stuck right down in a back pocket which makes his stats and therefore form look worse than it is.
I'm suprised that he's in but not disappointed.
We already know the dude has talent. As we say, the season's gone. He's fit enough to play out a game, get him back in and give him something to cheer about, as I've said elsewhere he didnt seem like a happy camper and he's one player with enough ability to warrant bringing in just for cheer up factor over form, plus he might have a good game if you are to believe crows.
The other thing for me is, with Shaw and Grigg in the side we have some left footers on the ground for once, be interesting to see if that helps us out much.
34 players used for the year now, up to an acceptable level for a team missing the 8, anymore is a bonus.

I have no issue with this selection except when the same allowances are applied to players who suck donkey's balls

Jacobs has been well down on form, but definitely not shit as you stated.
As for McKernan being a better player than Jacobs, you're polishing a turd there Kingy.
McKernan is a dopey footballer with no real natural footy intelligence who just doesn't do enough.
McKernan is not in the same class as Jacobs - a long way off to be truthful.
