Changes vs Pies

FWIW I think Tarrant will go to Jurrah, Reid to Watts (if he plays forward) and O'Brien to Green. Would be very surprised if Maxwell plays on a player as important as Green, he is usually there to provide help to the other defenders & can play on a range of players if plan A isn't working out.

Not sure also if you were referring to Reid when you said his disposal isn't great, this year he has been our best kick out of the backline IMO & is someone we definitely look to get the ball to when we want to clear the zone & he predominantly does so effectively.

Midfield is now the massive concern for mine. Our midfield unit will be Pendlebury, Wellingham, Ball, Sidebottom, Didak, McCarthy & Blair (I expect him to come in), wouldn't even rule us out using Davis in there this week due to the loss of Thomas & Swan. I still think we have a bit extra class & experience to get the win, would definitely be more worried if Jamar was playing though. Should be a ripper game though, good luck.

I may be wrong but aren't Pendles, Wellingham, Didak, Sidebottom, McCarthy and Blair predominantly outside players. Without Swan and Beams whose going to extract the ball for you other than ...Ball (pardon the pun)?

Wellingham, Pendles and Blair are good ball winners as well.

Pendlebury plays both inside and out (moreso than Swan even), as does Wellingham IMO. Didak is obviously outside only. Sidebottom is a bit weak inside but isn't completely outside, same with McCarthy. Blair is more inside than out. I know you guys are particularly strong with regards to extractors so it's going to be difficult, Ball's having a great year though and will be very important on the weekend.

Ball did a great extraction job against us in the 1 point loss last year from memory so I agree that he will be important. Its pissing down outside at the moment so if that continues it could be an ideal game for the mud larks.

Seems to be alot of suggestion of Macdonald on Didak which makes me very nervous. He was made to look alright last week largely because of those around him - Chip returning to form and Rivs turning back the clock. A player like Didak could show him up and use this game to remind everyone what he's capable of.

That aside, I am growing in confidence about this one. On paper, the Collingwood midfield in particular is looking far less threatening. In fact I'd say we are now on par.

Thomas is confirmed out...

good, good

The game will be won in the midfield pressure stakes, the team that restricts the quality of F50 entries will win.... both have very good defences.

I just hope Didak's relatively poor form continues into this game. A stinker from one or two others (return of the trademark Cloke shanks would be nice) and all our boys on their game could give us a definite sniff.

I'd love to see Dawes and Cloke spanked. I wish Garland was in the side...

Hey guys!

I have a free $20 bet I have to place before tomorrow and I'm tossing up between putting it all on this game or Brisbane VS Carlton.
As you can see I have a fairly decent tipping record on BF and on AFL.com so I have a feeling Melbourne can pull up an upset-especially with there outs. Taking a look at the recent records over the last few years, Melbourne have really given the pies a run for their money. I'm one of those people who, if I bet, I want to win big or not at all so this 4:1 return is looking alright, although granted not as great as the 9:1 for Bris.

Any thoughts or anything welcome! I am happy to answer any Qs to do with the Swans or anything else.

no way would i put it on the Brisbane game. can you multi it up?

Hmm would rather not as Brisbane have a very good record against Carlton.

Chuck it on Carlton and take home some easy cash. Then reinvest $20 of it on an upset of your choice in the next week or two afterwards

*She.

Anyway yes I do want to put it on the lions, they really do match up well and I can't see any Carlton player going with Brown. Hmm it's either Melbourne or Brisbane as this is a bonus bet expiring tomorrow.

Frankly you'd be insane to tip Brisbane against Caaaarlton. Not a snowball's chance in hell. So if it's a toss up I'd go this one.

I dont usually tip the Dees to win but I was confident last week against the Bombers so I tipped them and I am confident this week against the Pies. Our midfield is a fair bit stronger than the Pies this week and provided our boys pulled up ok after their big effort last week then I am confident we will win. McKenzie is firing again and his 13 tackles last week really inspired the rest of the team. It hasn't been a secret that our efforts after a big one have been poor and I think that will be a big focus this week. Put it all on the Dees :thumbsu:
