Does anyone still have the game liftout from Monday's the West? I can't find min but if you have a copy take a pic of the WAFL update for freo players and post it on here... Nyhuis im sure was mentioned as barely sighted and mccarthy was quoted as being unfit. There was something negative for scott jones too. Team selections this week are a disgrace based on those comments in the liftout.

In all honesty, Danyle Pearce actually deserves his spot in the 22 this week. Only one even committed nor fit enough of the Peel regulars. Has the heart too. Whereas Mccarthy and Sutcliffe probably in the worst form of their football careers right now. Cam cant buy a goal, what will he even offer at AFL level.
So stuff playing for Peel right? Just run around and pretend to play football, it's alright you'll get picked for Freo anyway. Perplexing selections

On the team sheet, Port line-up looks imposing forward of centre with Rockliff, Boak, Gray, Wingard and Dixon. Marshall (missing) was their leading goalkicker in Round 1, but I kind of remember that he got a couple of soft ones. There was no pressure last time with the way they ran in into their forward line. Their half backs that had a feast of the ball with Bonner and Byrne-Jones getting 31 and 28 possessions.
I suppose we've picked quite a few defensive options (Hughes, Nyhuis, Sutcliffe) so there's always s chance we might frustrate them enough that they don't have enough time left to go for the percentage boost. Thinking Sutcliffe might be there to add a bigger body around the midfield but probably in a negating role.
We've got some run with B.Hill, Langdon, Sheridan, Giro, S. Hill, Wilson, the latter two to give us some good ball use along with Walters, Neale, Mundy,Ryan, Cerra ---hmm, its starting to look reasonable, but I can't convince myself that we aren't stuffed.

Jones, sure if Ape is struggling fitness wise. Can live with this. Would prefer Nads but I am guessing he is not ready.
Sutty? The ****. I would prefer DP on the basis purely that he is in good form at WAFL level. Sutty is struggling there he is going to get battered in the AFL.
Cam (normally a fan) but he can't get a kick in the WAFL.
Nyhuis I can live with.
But what I really don't get is Duman. In better form than all these blokes but can't get a look in and hasn't since his concussion. Papers stamped? I'd be surprised if that were the case.

Somewhere I saw Nyhuis voted as one of Peel's best vs Subiaco (NB: Its on that stat-sheet in the Peel Thunder thread that the poster from Sydney provides each week. Nyhuis is named 2nd best for Peel).

Pearce definitely ahead of Sutcliffe. Can't see the basis of it. Cam is in big trouble given he's not signing a contract for us and is 26. But I know we don't have any time for 'sympathy', but Danyle has been going at it as a 100% professional. Always committed and knows he's not gifted games as an experienced older player, but really unfair for this week.

Yeah Cam definitely isn't young enough to get free hits IMO. If you wanted a bigger body Danyle is better.

I sense an upset in the making. And not just at the selection table.
I wouldn't mind it if he was coming in off some form in the 2nds but he just isn't... Sets a terrible precedent where guys get 'free' games in the seniors and also doesn't do the player himself any good by seemingly throwing him in the deep end when he's down on confidence/form already.
