Lol. and let me guess why a Demons supporter is so worried???

Errrrr??
Ultimate Footy. Plus he's done damn well of the RL. Been keeping an eye on him.

This does not make sense. We aren't doing him any favours by bringing him back before he is ready. If he is fumbly he will be blamed if we lose. This is the reality of his selection and the way most supporters will react.

Astute!

Names mean nothing.

2014 Porplyzia isn't 2009 Porplyzia. 2014 Thompson isn't 2006-2012 Thompson.

Ask the Fremantle midfield how scared they were of the Collingwood big names.

When I say our midfield one by one is good I meant players like Dangerfield, Sloane, Douglas, Crouch, Wright, Grigg etc. Although it's worth nothing Thompson was still our leading clearance and possession winner last year I believe. Even last year we had big names that played well individually, but as a group couldn't put it together.

Very solid ins. We need the extra experience. 30 games of experience out, 329 games of experience in.

Quality point....

Now have Douglas, Reilly, Thommo, Danger, Rutten, Porps, Betts as players who have played over 100 games (still not a lot, but 2 more than against Geelong).

No point in having experience if you are not playing well. Porps shouldn't be playing. Would have preferred Cameron or someone with pace, and I don't mean Petrenko.

Lyons is a fraction unlucky. Having said that, he has yet to come up with a compelling case given his opportunities.

He is clearly going to need to make a bit more of his opportunities.

To those quoting his stats from last week, I guess you also think Scott West is the best footballer to ever play the game.

You need some experience in your side. We were the 3rd youngest side in the opening round (with regards to games played).

That's a pretty stupid comparison, Scott West was a very good player.

You said Lyons need to make a bit more of his opportunities, what would you like to have seen extra last week?

Statistically he was just about the best ever.

I don't think you quite got my point.

Scott West was a 7 time club champion, 5 time AA and 5 time top 5 in the Brownlow.

I'm really not sure what point your trying to make, but slagging off Scott West for no reason is a bit silly.

Do you think we should remove statistical analysis to measure performance - the players and coaches seem to think its relatively important

To be fair though, Scott West was a better player than all but maybe 3 or 4 players in our current team.

I won't quote his stats like others have but will say this, when the pressure was on, really on in the last quarter, Lyons stood up and got the ball whilst half our team went missing. That is a player you want in your team, that is meant to be a benchmark of a successful side.

We drop him though, probably as an example of where we are as a footy club.
