Martin wasn't great tonight, but his form leading into it was pretty good.

It is possible he just had a bit of a down game....

Has a great leg but was obsessed in handballing

Was happy to give him a go but there are better players returning

Dont care who goes out but whoever rips the **** out of Saturday can come in. Douglas will play next week.

Thommo was depressingly poor. It's difficult, though, because we were out-wrestled for so much of the night. Thompson is one of the few mature, big bodied mids we have. Without him, we look bloody small at the clearances.
Would love to have 2005 Thommo back. He would have ran right through Guthrie and put an end to that nonsense.

Jaensch had 25 (6 contested) disposals at 100% efficiency. 3 tackles. 4 inside 50s and a goal. Stats don't tell the whole picture but anyone suggesting he be dropped doesn't understand football.

Statistics don't tell the true story - he is not good enough - is there a stat for chasing Bartell's arse as he kicked a goal?

Jaensch is too slow with his disposal and decisions and clogs up the flow of play - anyone that can't see that hasn't actually played!!

everyone was bloody handball happy tonight. was really frustrating.

my issue with the calls to drop Martin today is that just 3 hours ago most seemed happy to play him because he was in form. you don't lose form in one week. in fact, it's quite normal for fringe players to be up and down. he had a few weeks up, this was down, maybe next week he rebounds and plays well.

I don't know if those calling for him to be dropped are the same people though.

Except Jaensch wasn't the only one responsible for Bartel...Jaensch had Mcarthy for a fair slab of game time and was providing some decent run and carry. I'm not trying to say that the guy was our best player, i'm saying he was far from our worst and shouldn't be dropped for next week.

I was at the game at pods was diabolical. Out for Jenkins.

Smack was pretty good and lewy good enough to keep his spot.

Martin out for mcrouch. Porps for Charlie Cameron.

I am getting worried about Sando too. Or handball happy game is horrible to watch. Either we get cleaner and get some space, or we'll get smashed by the good pressure teams.

We really need dougy.

So was he at 100% and when he has the ball are you A. confident & B. excited??

He took the game on kicked the ball beautifully and nailed one from 60. Wtf are you on about. Excellent game continued his preseason form.

Do you even watch?? He is not AFL standard and sadly
Martin is proving the same. Not all of our boys are up to it. Lyon is and showed that once on the ground.

I'll give him that - it was nice- however why doesn't he use that leg in play - he panics and does little dinky shit kicks not up to it!

That's a different story though.. He may not have proved he is AFL standard yet, but he played well tonight..
Keep playing that way and he will earn being AFL standard.. Still has things to work on but he was good..

PLAaaaa-LENTY in front of Matt Jaensch to get the chop. Whipping boy extraordinaire! He could have 40 possies and people would say he needs to go.

You are blinded watch the replay pointless continuing the discussion.
Not blind yet - had a few!
Nope not convinced on Jaensch - what does he give us? Laird is much more damaging and I am so much more comfortable with the ball in his hands. Jaensch cannot defend one on one therefore he is not a defender -he constantly gets caught out and it costs our team goals! He gives away crucial goals and his one big bomb doesn't make up for it.
