Ahh but there's a difference between potential (Talent) and form .......the call has been to off-load Mackay ...you don't off-load talent firstly, and secondly in a SLOW TEAM you don't get rid of one of your few quick players.

Yes i'll gloat thanks ;)

BTW Mackay has been roundly criticized for his tackling .......look at his last 3rd of the season last year and so far this year and you'll see him really sticking tackles
The guy is working hard on his game yet gets no credit

WW

Substitute potential with talent, it doesn't materially change my most and that is regardless of how DMac performs this year you can't gloat because you can't change history and that is up to this point in time for a player of DMac's talent and experience he has under achieved on his talent.

The cause of concern and frustration from supporters is not that we are playing a player who has no talent is the opposite that here is a player with obvious talent who has under achieved over the course of 2-3 or more seasons

We all hope that he succeeds and has a strong season however if he does it doesn't erase the frustrations of the past it will just confirm the expectations moving forward

Thommo wasn't as bad as some players, at least let Thommo play himself out of the team hes a club champ

Looks disinterested and old. No place for sentimentality in the AFL. Look in reality we will play him out the whole season. In my world we would bring him back for a send off game at home against GWS in Rnd 5 (Sydney game too important). His send off (with porps) should have been rnd 21 last year, last game at AAMI

Yep - yet another electric 17 poss on thurs night - just enough not to be dropped, that's the Dmac we all know and love

Where would we be without him:rolleyes:

If we are being brutally honest DMac's 17 disposal game doesn't even live up to Polec's game against Carlton and this is the player the crows targeted to replace DMac in that role, let's not even mention the experience gap between the two players

You don't keep selecting underperforming players either.

I'd rather have M.Crouch then Mackay in, one of those at least look like he could be an A grader and that isn't Mackay... and also, right now it frees Sloane to play as a wingman.

Selecting Mackay week in week out is embracing mediocrity at it's finest.

so bad

After today's trial looks like Laird could be eyeing out a return and M Crouch has put every foot forward to make his debut

Radar won't be selected needs another couple of gallops to gain full confidence both his conditioning and in his shoulder, last thing we need is another player that can't stick a tackle because of a dodgy shoulder

Charlie, we all can't wait for his debut one day however it won't be this week as the club won't pull that trigger until he strings a few games together and unfortunately until the club give some players more opportunity to fail

JJ, CEY and Hartgan, one senses that they did not do enough today to press their claims however JJ chance of an inclusion would improve if LJ was rubbed out for a week which would be an injustice if it happened

Do we have anyone that could replace Shaw? I'm starting to think he might be last man standing. Which is kind of ironic.

Can I suggest that you watch the game again as Shaw's first half was very good, yes his 2nd half was not as good however it had a lot to do with the mids getting smashed in the last qtr and putting our defence under pressure

I actually wonder if people actually watch the game through unbiased glasses or just roll out the same names every week

Personally I am not a Jaensch fan however unlike others I haven't rolled his name out this week because he doesn't deserve to be dropped and either does Shaw

Radar won't play, he will put his hand up however the club will hold him back to play a couple more especially given the availability of Laird, M Crouch and Maybe Dougy
If he gets through today OK he is a good chance. They are keen to get him back in. The coach is keen to bring in some experience.

But if the 3 mentioned above come back in who else gets dropped?
