Would be a huge in having Laird, Junior and Dougy back.

Laird and Reilly have hardly played at all and I dont see them being included. Junior and Dougy would be awesome.

I just think Port will be way too strong on the day and will win after a tough 3 quarters.

Selwood hardly played either and he destroyed us

Laird only needed to get through today and show good form, Radar will be given more time purely because of the nature of his injury

Not true

Radar is keen to play however the club will hold him back another week or two
Interesting.

Which bit in particular is not true?

They are not keen to get him back in?

They don't want his experience?

It doesn't matter how he pulls up today?

You are comparing Selwood to Laird???:rolleyes:

Yeah Roo/Ditz Friday Arvo kind of confirmed this.
OMG I feel a stirring in my loins.
Radar is also better than 50:50.
Saw the last quarter and a half of the reserves at AAMI today.

Radar was a class above every other player on the field. If he didn't have leather poisoning by the time I got there, he certainly got it before I left. He got run down once, but excusable because it was just out of traffic, the other guy already had steam up and nobody told him he was hot. Other than that he created most of the Crows' play from half back and through the middle. He is and always has been a tad slow but his kicking was mostly excellent except for a couple of slow balls that put the receiver under pressure. Had more touches than the Queen's had handshakes.

I didn't like the quarter I saw of Jenkins . He looked a bit disinterested - not the look you should have when Smack is leading that race at the moment.

Patrenko spent nearly the entire quarter on the ball. Did some very useful things. Another rocket 45m pass smack onto the chest of Cameron(i think). His pace was blinding and he might have played himself back into the team (see you later martin). Good pressure acts as well of course.

Crouch looked lethargic but got his hands on the ball...a lot. On today's showing what people have said about him being a bad kick is thorough bullshit. He was passing beautifully by foot.

Cameron. Are we allowed to play this guy…does he have to be upgraded or anything…must play him by the end of the year!! I'm calling it now. He is the second Eddie Betts. Has ridiculous skill and plenty of class.

Graham. His name should never be mentioned in the same sentence as AFC AFL team, ever again. Enough said.

Pretty sure Laird was playing (they look different in the reserves jumper) He wasn't up and about like his usual game but did some trademark stuff in the back lines of course and will be better for the run.

I'm not what I am comparing is that you need to look deeper at their nature of injuries, what work they have done and what game time is required before returning

Radar and Lairdy have had completely different injuries and preparation, Lairdy has virtually completed a full pre-season and was flying up to the week prior to the first NAB trial and then he had his abductor strain and since the club has managed him in a way to not only aid his recovery but also to ensure that his good pre-season work was not lost. With this in mind Lairdy only needed one good full hit out before being ready for selection

On the other hand Radar like many other players coming back from a should recon needs a good month of footy to be hit and give hits to get full confidence back in his shoulder so he and the team are not exposed due to an inability to tackle

Thanks for that, interesting comments about Petrenko, Cameron, Reilly, and Laird.

Judging from what you said - Petrenko and Reilly could possibly come in?

I hope Sando pulls a selection from left field and gives us a good news story heading into the Showdown, the Club has had a tough month truth be told.

Port are a good hard running team, I still dont see us beating them. We along with Port are among those teams from about 6-10 and given our injuries its going to be hard to roll them especially in their first official home game.

Harsh on Graham, his first 3 quarters were very good and was the best big bloke on the field

Yeah I only saw the last qtr and a bit. In that time he gave away 5 free kicks, one 50m for mouthing the umpire, took one mark and didn't make the distance kicking for gaol 45m out. I did see him get a panicked clearance out of centre when both ruckmen had missed the ball and it lobbed in his hands somehow. I would really like him to become a good AFL footballer, but it's never going to happen.

The bit that he is a chance for this week, No doubt radar will put his hand up however prior to today it was already predetermined that Radar will hVe another hit out or two

Unless Sando pulls a late minute panic selection

Probem was that our better players today Atkins aside, arent really hard runners but hard workers

Jenkins was much much worse IMO

He sure did. As for the hard workers comment, I guess what I mean is that we need extra outside run and guys like Pets, Crouch, Cameron etc wont provide that. What they will do work get to the contest and provide physical presence.

Cheers

IMO if the likes of Thommo, Kerridge, Sloane, Lyon, Wright and M Crouch can do the work inside their is no reason my Danger, Smith, DMac, Douglas, B Crouch and Grigg can do more damage outside

What is your opinion on the following players Baccs?

L Thompson
Shaw
Porp
Martin
McKay
Jaensch
Reilly
Graham
LT: Average, would have been delisted by now if we had more picks
Shaw: Will be a decent AFL player, never a star though. Could very easily turn out like a Stratton at the Hawks
Porps: Past it
Martin: Won't be on the list next season
Mackay: If he can't start having more bigger disposal games, Hendo will take his spot once fit. Still important to our side for the moment.
Jaensch: Another depth player, but one that can actually play good games at AFL level like on Thursday night. Certainly good enough to stay on the list for now.
Reilly: Best 22 with Hendo out, but this or next year could easily be his last season
Graham: Average, hopefully Osborn comes on

Laird straight back in - kid is a gun, he's earned it.

Mark Thompson said something very poignant last night.

He said when you've got talented kids, you play them, and you play them early.

Not playing Matt Crouch the other night was typical of our club's selection table.

I don't know what goes on that table.
