2012 is less relevant than 2013. Neither are as relevant as 2014. Thommo has fallen off a cliff in the year between. Was it 2012 when he had 50 against gold coast. He looks a long way off that at the moment.

Dangerfield needs to play on half back flank and move Sloane to half forward flank if we are to have any chance.

I like your thinking but I would swap them around, have Danger HF and Sloane HB.
We need more scoring ability and Danger gives us that.
and I would like to see Rory streaming out of half back also, giving another option with Smith

The good news is, our medium sized defenders will have a field day against their medium forwards

He came on as the sub in possibly the most taxing game of the round.
Its a wonder he had more energy than all the other players on hte field.

Maybe if they'd both started, we would be able to tell.

Porps had a stinker on the weekend, but one game doth not make a season.

So you're admitting Porps had a stinker in your argument to justify Lyons being dropped. Its obvious the plan all along was to play Lyons have him as sub and then drop him as soon as Douglas comes back. Its disgraceful.

Win the midfield and put pressure on their forward supply and it goes along way to helping our defenders

I would go Smith on Wingard, Brown on the diver and Radar on Gray

It also works the other way, if we win the midfield it will put extra pressure on Ports young defense and I'm not sure they have a good match up for Betts

Do you see what's concerning with your post?

We need to curb 3 of their dangerous small forwards, they have to worry about 1. We lose the midfield and we are ****ed.
