Chairman Ross Howie is reminding the jury before they consider their verdict that a strike can be delivered with an open hand.

He is also reminding them that 'intentional to strike' is what matters. Not whether Redpath intended to strike high or to the body

Nice work AFL

If red gets done then the message the afl has sent this week is you can use a boot to someone's face, you can leave the ground and bump someone high and late but go fordbid you push someone with an open hand
That's this week. Next week it will be a contrasting message they send.

Too hard to argue given Davis dived, would have to call him a diver and the tribunal would have to find he is a diver which they would not do.

I don't see how else he gets off.

The tribunal found Schofield not guilty because of insufficient force and weren't required to punish Oliver.

There was a hesitation from Oliver and I didn't mean they'd have to punish Davis they'd just basically call him a diver which they are too weak to do

Ross Howie reminding the jury you can strike with an open hand. Lmao since when is an open hand push referred to as a strike. Rules on the run to the extreme!
