1. What a joke! Should've been thrown out from the MRP. Can't believe the tribunal stood by the decision.

2. I really hope we weren't paying the lawyers much. Foolish argument from them. We had a better chance if we said that he should be let off because it's the vibe

And the AFL want to know why many supporters are disillusioned with the game and have stopped going and watching.

The AFL are lucky the other sporting codes haven't got their act together.

AFL just look at this weeks MRP decisions and your tribunal. And if you did look at it you wouldn't humble yourselves to admit you cocked it up.

2 weeks into 3 weeks for that the AFL should be ashamed and embarrassed.

As for the AFLPA get off your ass and tell the AFL that your members are missing out on games of football because of the AFL incompetence. Don't stay silent can't you see how stupid this is.

As for Phil Davis luckily you play for GWS and nobody recognises you as an AFL footballer in that city because you should be embarrassed to call yourself an AFL player.

Phil Davis sleeps with the lights on.

lol what a joke, dead set joke. The message from the MRP is simple, if you intend to do anything to an opponent, send him to the morgue and sit out a few week happy in the knowledge you earned it. Other wise you risk sitting out 3 weeks for a dive.

So, every MRP decision that impacted us went the wrong way. Two them are a REALLY bad look for the AFL, the other is a push on stager (a really bad stager at that).

Apparently Redpath cracked on the stand, and didn't hold up well to the questioning.
But the blame there HAS to go to Gordon and Stary. Redpath needed to be better prepared for the questioning etc that would be coming his way.

My question is why the hell did we choose Rob Stary to defend? Cmon Peter, couldn't you have chosen someone with a bit of a better reputation?

For the people who don't know:

"The 60-year-old Stary is, of course, better known for representing our more notorious gangland figures, including Carl Williams and Tony Mokbel, as well as militant unionists, left-wing activists and one Julian Assange. He is also the lawyer to whom Australian terror suspects turn more than any other.

In the second half of his career, in fact, the depth and breadth of such work has set him apart in the field. And he doesn't just defend radicalised Islamists. Stary jokes that his firm is "inter-denominational", representing freedom fighters, Tamil Tigers and Kurdish separatists – and so defending people both inspired by (and revolted by) Islamic State – all of which has turned him into, for want of a better descriptor, the Terror Lawyer."

On top of this, this is BLOODY FOOTBALL. This a whole different ball game. A more specialised AFL experienced person should have been used.

Redpath and Greene are going to end up getting suspended for the same amount of games this year...

The system is so broken. Needs an overhaul badly.

Oh BTW if anyone's wondering why we'd choose Rob Stary, he went to school with Peter Gordon. Friends looking after friends I guess.

Instead we could have hired David Grace QC, who's extremely experienced when it comes to AFL tribunals. AFL tribunals are a whole different ball game to regular court. All of Stary's experience representing Carl Williams, Tony Mokbel, Assange and the numerous terrorist scumbags is almost irrelevant in an AFL tribunal.

Whilst David Grace QC only just a few weeks ago got Schofield off at the AFL tribunal from an almost identical situation, where Oliver dived just like Davis did, and if anything Schofield's elbows contact was MUCH more dangerous than Redpath's open handed palm no matter how you look at it.
This is the same David Grace that somehow got all the Essenscum drug cheats off at the AFL tribunal as well.

But no...Gordan had to go with his old school mate Stary. The well known Gangster/Terrorist QC master.

/End rant.

The very last sentence I will pay and is up for debate, but would like more information about the case in question.

The rest, what rubbish. Why on earth does that give the man a bad reputation?

Why do you need f ----- legal eagles in the first place for either side ?
How about we all just work on the basis of common sense , shit , forgot this is the AFL .

I don't normally jump on other teams threads but after the decision on Redpath and getting 3 weeks for virtually nothing I feel for him and honestly don't know what the AFL are turning our game into but it's embarrassing

We will end up being TFL - Touch Football league

No, Redpath will have had 5 weeks , Greene has 4 had weeks.

Spot on. No wonder really understands the rules anymore. Players getting suspended for good tackles and now this crap.

Funny I watched for number of weeks blokes banging into the back of JJ with elbows and shoulders.
More chance getting hurt from that crap than what Wood and Red did.
I think if I was Red I would have had to punch one of those bozos on the way out.

No, Redpath will have had 5 weeks , Greene has 4 had weeks.
Greene copped 2 weeks for sniping Daniel across his jaw from behind which left him dazed. Redpath copped 3 for an open handed shove to the shoulder/neck which didn't hurt Davis.

Yet Greene is apparently the marked man.

****ing lol

Should have just coming flying in with the studs up and hoped for a 'misconduct' charge
