With the side selected, do you guys see JJ actually playing up forward like he's been named?

Every chance he'll play up there, he did against Essendon and did really well.

Yes I expect him to definitely play forward.... they have shored up the backline by bringing back Morris and playing Bob off the back flank. The defence looks much more experienced and solid than last week.

We need JJ forward and kicking goals like no one else other than Dickson seems capable of doing. He adds significant X factor to the team, particularly if he is playing forward.

I really like the team as selected. Probably our best side as picked for quite a while. Although Libba was very lucky to hold his spot in my view. He was terrible last week and would want to improve dramatically. I sure as hell hope we kick straight this week as well, no team burns chances in the forward half like we do. Bont needs to get back to his best kicking for goal also, although his passes inside 50 are sublime still.

Alright cheers :thumbsu: yeah I feel like he will too. I think on paper the team (and forward line) look better with him forward. Would seem like a bad move imo to not give him another crack there after the Bombers game. Also coming back from a couple of weeks out with injury I feel up forward makes more sense for him.

Very strange to bring back two injured players for what looks
like a very cold game i hope the travelling emergencies are
warmed up just in case. The travelling emergencies might
prove to be important yet again.

Port's team looks very weak on paper it's full young players, list cloggers and only a couple that can kick a footy. I'm not sure why they've gone so tall, it's giving the Bulldogs exactly what they want. But given how this seasons gone you so far you still couldn't be confident of a win.

Probably went tall because our backline seriously lacks height...

I'm a firm believer of Wallis & Libba being ineffective in the same team as each other. I'm backing Libba to take Wallis' role, and do better.

Will we see a return to the old days where a known injury is given a real work out by the opposition and will we think it is fair enough?

I'd back it in he'll wear a guard. If a player tries to test him, I guess we have to cop that. I go by the adage if he's fit enough to be out there it's expected he'll cop it. Poor sportsmanship, but within the rules. I don't agree with the heroes who crash into players who are injured during a game though.

We're still not full strength, especially down back but no excuses with this team in. It's good enough, it's experienced enough. No one to blame but ourselves if we can't get this done, that goes for tomorrow and next week too.

It's hilarious that everyone always complains about Ballarat's weather (it's not normally that bad) and the week everyone is gonna visit the town is the coldest I can remember.

Hope it snows while the footy is on, Port have gone way too tall imo.

This is the most rain we have had for months. Hope the ground holds up. I know a few of the local ovals have been renovated totally and the surfaces are still ok so fingers crossed. Afl standard is a different thing though of course.

When they rotated the ground, they did a lot of work on the drainage I believe. Will be slippery but confident the ground will hold up.

Situation is simple. Win both and we play finals. Lose 1 game and we don't make it.

Eagles need to lose 1 for us to make it (GC/ Adel)

Essendon will win both (GC/Freo) and we have a rubbish % meaning they will get in if we lose a game.

Must win. Thank god Moz is back <3

It has enough height this week with Cordy, Young and Morris. Last week where the Giants talls supposedly were the difference kicked 5 goals out their 16. If you don't have quality tall forwards they're not going to be a threat for the lighter bulldog defenders and will allow the backline to run it out easily.

Charlie Dixon, Chad Wingard, Robbie Gray, Tom Clurey, Tom Jonas, Travis Boak, Ollie Wines, Sam Powell-Pepper, Dougal Howard, Jared Polec, Justin Westhoff, Paddy Ryder, Dan Houston, Hamish Hartlett - 14/22 guns.

Not sure where your going with the list cloggers and couple that can kick a footy line. You'll see Saturday arvo.

All we needed this year was a functional forward structure and we would have won at least 4 more games, putting us on par with Adelaide. We now have a good mix of tall/small in the forward line and feel sorry for you guys. You really only have the Bont whose firing for you at the moment.

Anyways. I do like the dogs, and if we aren't winning the flag I want you guys to win it, then anyone else other than the Crows and Collingwood.

Here's to a good game.

If we had a functional forward line, we'd be a fair chance to go back-to-back. A lot harder to do than just say though.

Not sure your list is anywhere near the Crows , but your right we don't have a lot going for us right now.

You're being very liberal with the word "gun" there.
