Redden is making me miss Masten, never thought that would happen

Masten was much maligned, but he is very much a missing piece ATM - gave running power and was so, so often the outlet out of defence. We can't get out of our D50 now.

I feel the most sorry for Redden out of that mess. He isn't fast, he is fit though (I asked Mark Duffield and he confirmed) so I sort of see why they want him out there. But his best work, including his tackling, is done with a contested ground ball. He is good at fighting for the ball on hands and knees and is one of our better handballers.

Redden is a neat kick on a quick turnover play he can hit some good targets. But whatever he's currently doing isn't working.

Kelly can play forward. He is normally clean below his knees. I have always wanted Shuey to be a goal a game mid but he's always been needed at the bottom of packs. I still wish he would up his attacking game sometimes instead of looking for a bullet pass to JK that just gets cut off because it is too low and everyone knows where he will kick it.

I imagine it being a rolling hub.

2 teams at a time, and do it 4 times over.

It will probably mean that we do not travel to Victoria and have no games at the MCG this year.

The AFL has a lot to think about with their fixture.

QLD have placed greater Melbourne area on their list of COVID hotspots, which means if you come from Melbourne you need to isolate. As it stands right now,

QLD govt are allowing AFL/NRL exemption to stay in place.

given Storm will need to travel to QLD in a couple of weeks time. NRL has requested the Storm relocate in anticipation of QLD not allowing FIFO.

On top of concern around Essendon and their games against Melbourne, Carlton and Collingwood. Richmond being allowed in to QLD and the Suns were scheduled to take on Geelong at KP in round 5 are both tenuous.

I'm a big fan of Nelson, got some mongrel about him, can shut down small forwards and mids. He's a more flexible and harder Hutchings.

I don't want Schoey out.... But Barrass has been one of our best this year, they wont drop Hurn and Gov needs to be back.

Could we shuffle Yeo back to the half back where he was aa now that we have Kelly? Would allow sheed more mid time which should help sheed get more into it. More damaging and creative backline then. Bit of a risk to move yeo again and mess with his game style but maybe worth it.

Hunts the player and ball as good as any at ground level and massive presence around the ball to worry other teams. Doesn't have the tank of a mid but in bursts. I have a vague recollection of pre knee 2018 that he was at centre bounces sometimes with Lycett rucking.

Other than the pissweak effort, i feel its a structural thing right now. We’re too mid heavy and our talls is all wrong.

Drop two mids from: Redden, Sheed and petrucelle

Insert two forwards from: Jones, Treacy and Cameron

Either drop Allen or Kennedy (managed/save for dry Optus days) and bring in Williams.

Also tell Hurn to make a quick decision ffs. He’s been so slow to pull the trigger since the beginning of 2019. Otherwise bring in Watson.

I’d rather have Yeo on the wing but something needs to be done as currently we have nobody farming the ball out and everybody seems to tackling plus we have no damaging wingers if they do get it. Kelly and Shuey aren’t getting free run and they are the teams best kicks as mids.

Schofield holds his own and is valuable against smaller players. Petch - if he makes it he will be very valuable. I thought his intensity was much better against the bears. We ignore pace and youth at our peril.
Rotham -I din't realise he played - I must have missed him. We seem to have a few WAFL favorites that will never take the next step.

He was. I know and what none of you seem to understand is that I don't care whether he keeps his job or not. If he can coach us to another premiership great; if we are going to keep whingeing everyday about staying in a five-star resort on the Gold Coast for a month, playing terrible footy that ruins our chances of making finals, he can fu** off.

I am not here saying anything that wasn't widely acknowledged within football circles throughout 2017. We all work in different industries.
