I mean, Masten was dropped six times in his final three seasons and there’s a 191-game player dropped to the emergencies this week, but ok.
Schofield is a shit counter-example - as you know he could potentially be the oldest ever 200 game Eagle. He’s been a reserves player almost the whole time Simpson’s been the coach.

Masten, cool. Any other examples?

Just want the game to hurry up and start. Don't get to watch it this week which is a bummer. If they win then I will watch the replay in Sunday.

Happy enough with the changes, just want to see a win. It's been a while.

Sheed was dropped several times in 2018.

Simpson doesn’t drop any senior players, nah Schofield doesn’t count because ... he’s dropped too often?

Other examples: Priddis was “managed” twice in his final season, Cox was “managed” twice in his final season, MacKenzie was up and down between levels in 2016 and 2017, Butler dropped during his final season, vice-captain Scott Selwood dropped during 2015 and missed the Grand Final as a result... probably none of those will count either though, because of reasons.

Changes are pretty uninspiring. I think Williams would've been better to rest forward and be more impactful than Hickey. From memory, JJ cracked in pretty well at Geelong, just his disposal wasn't up to Cat's standards. Worst case for this is he's just another Ah Chee.....What is best case scenario?

As uninspired as I was at first, Hickeys a pretty good clearance player in his own right. Reckon they are really focusing on getting the midfield working. As ineffectual as he was in Rd 1, our only win this year has come with Hickey and NN in the same side.

Just dropped by to say how pleased I am to see Jarmaine Jones get a run. I was really sorry to see him leave KP as I thought he had real talent and moxie. He also has a hell of a story behind him. I hope he plays a blinder for you.

Dare I say it, I think he may have a bit of Les Fong about him. Let's hope so anyway.

Just want this version back- serviceable ruck, can play forward. What happened :(
His drop in form has been precipitous. There were a few injuries last year too.

I really hope he can work his way back as I think he's a better #2 than Hickey, who is more of a #1 ruck. Our team balance would be much more auspicious with Vardy backing Nic up.

Jarmaine Jones received his jumper today and is debuting

Tom Hickey is also definetly IN

Hickey got the nod because we wanted a bigger bodied and more experienced second ruck. We are worried about Dixons strength in the contest when NicNat goes off. Williams/Allen well below Hickeys physical strength. Its also the reason Hickey was ahead of Vardy

As Petruccelle’s sponsor, agree him being dropped. He looks unsure of where to go and hence looks slow and lazy which he is not. Badly coached. Better to try Jones and let Pet do something in a scratch match.

NicNat impact and TOG are starting to make him look a liability. Need a genuine 2nd ruck against Lycett and not Oscar but would have preferred the Ladder over a Hickey (his Melbourne game was ineffective).

WTF has to happen to drop JK. I would prefer to have seen Oscar stay and rest JK. But there again that is not the Simpson way. “Credits in the bank”, “back him in”, same spiel when older players flag.

As far as our mids, who in the coaching box is capable of stepping in like Sam Mitchell? Time for some hard truths and less touchy feely psychoanalysis.

69% TOG, 34 hit outs, 5 tackles, 9 clearances and a goal against Brisbane.

Filthy on the OAllen omission. He's my boy 😡

Surely play him as a third tall. How are neither of he or Waterman playing that role and keeping JK tied to the goalsquare?

He'll play next week, but Oscar doesn't have a cemented spot in the team for as long as JK continues pushing on.

And if there isn't a spot in the team for him, he doesn't deserve selection just because he's Oscar Allen.

JK won’t see the season out - he’ll be back in and up forward before too long.

When we get back to Perth, I think JK might have an announcement to make.

I expect a Priddis type situation. Maybe he'll hang around as a forward coach.
