Changes Vs Port

I don't see why Mullet should be in the 22, aside from the fact he's young. He's a nice kick, but I think our best performed backline is a mix of Thompson, Keys, Spud, Atley, Wright and McMahon. It's the mids who need to harden the f up. Be accountable, hand pass above the waist and block for each other.

LA defenders can use stats all they want, but he's a liability. Doesn't go both ways. If anything put him on a forward flank and tell him to tag the "qtr backs" to teach him how to play on someone.

Scott should also realise Goldy needs to ruck soley for 85%~ to be effective for our mids. Put H in the square and Drew 30 ahead of him.

Ffs, we have so many players being poorly utilised.

It's true.

Opposition coaches are generally happy to allow certain players to run free, especially those that have little to zero impact. After all, LA only has the second most inside 50's this year, has only kicked 5 goals and set up 4 and is going at the same disposal efficiency as Wells and Harvey. I'd let him run free too.
Yes and strangely enough only 2 out of those 3 guys ever get a tag.

I wonder why.

I'd like to see Wright learn how to spoil overhead.

Was feeling a bit low about our loss, but this thread has really given me a laugh.

Can't wait to see the 12 or so changes, followed by the calls of "Never want to see him in the blue and white again" next monday.

But kudos to the Port bloke for showing us that it could always be worse. Out: everyone. In: 22 bags of chips.

Mullet to hff to replace Harper I think.

I love Keirans intensity but lets be honest he's on the slowish side and he needs the blokes up the field performing to have a decent impact.

I would shelve him for now.

B: Firrito Thompson McMahon
HB: Atley Delaney Grima
C: Wells Ziebell Greenwood
HF: Harvey Pederson Cunnington
F: Thomas Petrie Edwards
R: Goldstein Swallow Bastinac
I: McKenzie Warren Anthony Mullet
E: Speight Campbell Black
OUT: McIntosh injured Wright injured Adams Harper Delaney MacMillan
If Wrights fine then comes in for Warren

Bright, shiny objects always get a good run in the Changes thread.

I've always been a big advocate of people making a clear distinction between the changes they would personally like to see, and those they (honestly) think the coaching staff will make.

The obvious disparity between your average BF poster's assessment of player performance and the coaching panel's own internal benchmarks (eg. BF's 'LA should never wear the jumper again" vs. his continued selection, or BF's 'Azza has been shit for weeks, get rid of' vs. Bon's post-game praise for Edwards' first half work on Hurn) will always exist, resulting in some very ordinary calls on selection (and other matters). Be that as it may, I am genuinely surprised by some folk's unswerving will to disregard the insights they are provided. It's this stick the fingers in the ears attitude that amuses me.

"If I say Player X is playing like shit, then they are playing like shit. Nevermind what the coach thinks."

Sadly, that kind of obstinate tunnel vision doesn't always make for the most rational, realistic, or informed type of discussion.

Suffice to say that some of the players named as ommissions in this thread stand little chance of being dropped at this point in time.

Is that 22 bags of the same flavour chips or mixed flavours.

Important to know this information

I believe it was a mix of corn chips and potato chips. Hold on let me check,

You could take out your entire team,

Bring in a bag of potato chips and/or doritos for each and our players would spend the game snacking while the slight wind took the ball across the ground into your end for a rushed behind to take the win.

I love the mental image of this, while 127 bored Port spectators chat among themselves.

You lost me at drop L Delabey.

I'm happy to keep both of the Delaneys in the side for a run of games.

They have both shown enough. They certainly haven't been touched up and they still have plenty of improvement.

TBH Im trying desperately to sneek Grima in. Really like Cam Delaney and I think he's just a bit cleaner and gives a bit more run then his bro. Both should be long term fixtures though eventualy.

IN

• Greenwood (it vexes me that players who show superb VFL form get runs as AFL subs & then dropped back)

• Mullett (see above)

• Warren (none more deserving)

• Grima (need him. is in our best 22)

OUT

• Mcintosh (injured ...one less tall will be handy i think)

• Edwards (VFL to kick some goals)

• Harper (VFL to rack up some confident possessions)

• either Delaney (we need to fit Grima back in & both these boys have pro's & con's, so right now i can't split them )

After just watching BS sweaty presser:
Milky for Edwards
Levi for Harper
Grima for Hamish (I realize not like for like, but I reckon he'll change something up)...... Alternatively Black for H.

Azza is as safe as houses.

Milky will (should) come in for Harps.

Levi for Hamish.

Some long term generational change needs to be made, and made soon.

Out: Firitto, McIntosh, Anthony, Thomas, Edwards, McKenzie, C.Delaney
In: Greenwood, Hansen, McMahon, Mullet, Garlett, Black, Grima

McMahon Delaney Thompson
Wells Grima Mullet
McMillan Atley Bastinac
Ziebell Hansen Harvey
Harper Petrie Black
Goldstein Greenwood Swallow
Cunnington, Adams, Wright, Garlett

Em: Kennedy Daw Speight

You know it makes sense. ;)

Sorry guys but Liam Anthony should not be playing AFL for north Melbourne, he's disposals are pathetic. Teams don't bother tagging him and he gets cheap possies and does no damage.

Also Aaron needs to wake up and hit the packs hard like he should be

interested why you think this OS. I remember in first or second Q on Sunday, Azza had a straight fwd mark, on quick lead, but pretty much unopposed, that just popped straight through his hands......something he's generally miles ahead of anyone at else at the club at executing well.. He looks a little off to me.
Delivery was garbage all day, but that soda stood out like the proverbials for me.
I'm a fan, but........

He's a 3rd forward on the way to a 50 goal season.
