Don’t know what this means mate.
If a blokes leading at you like Tmac was it's good team play to kick to him or else it takes him out of the game. He's not quick enough to run the ball from the wing the forward 50 especially with players all around him

Really confusing sport. In addition to having company pepper me with nonstop questions about the rules of the game, as we continued to get further and further behind I had to field questions about WHY we are worse than last year. And I damn well have no ******* idea. What a shitty morning 😭😭

Time to sack up Simon and decide what happening with this team.
If you are coaching them to do one thing and its not being done, then its pretty piss poor to have only dropped Omac and ANB this season mixed in with some first year players.

He either has to take responsibility and change his coaching or put some heat on someone who isnt ANB. Staggering we are 1-4 playing this badly and him and Omac are the only senior players to be dropped

Agree with shifting TMac back or out of the team if he’s injured - our backline has no idea and our forward line isn’t functioning at all. Don’t have the right balance at either end....

Assuming TMac goes back get rid of J Wagner bring in Garlett or Lockhart - play a small, quick forward line that can actually put pressure on the opposition when the ball comes to ground. Lowering our eyes when going forward would also make a huge difference. Weid to play high half forward Preuss deep.

Suggest we need Stretch in too for some run - probably for C Wagner who has done nothing for a few weeks.

I think people are overrating the impact Stretch might have, hes played 12 games in the last 2 years.

Averages 10 uncontested touches a game, so 2.5 a quarter and averages a bounce every 5 games he has played.
Averages less than 50% kick to handball ratio ( 43.7%)

Hes basically a more developed version of Spargo.

Simon Goodwin has completely ****** him

Contested possession average-

2015 - 25%
2016 - 32%
2017 - 40%
2018- 41%

So we basically turned him from a winger into almost an inside player

Agree about Stretch. Needs a month to see what he has got.
Stretch needs to be given very basic instructions;
1. Do not go inside - always remain out
2. Fill space if you can see any
3. Attack when we are offensive side and look to hit a target at FF
4. Run two ways like your career depends on it (and it does)
5. Tackle like a maniac

I think it would be completely pointless, hes so clearly injured that the last thing we need is him trying to sprint 100m to cover a hole in a zone. Plus hes been training as a forward for 2 years, if people think our defence is bad now wait till Tmac goes back and tries to figure out his place in our zone.

This is going to be such an interesting game. Richmond are MCG specialists, and we look like we've never played there before. If Goodwin flips the magnets and gets us cutting teams up through the middle with quick movement, we'll be a good chance of winning. If he keeps the same horrible game plan, you can lock in a 10-goal plus loss. I'm usually up for criticising the players, but I don't think any of them are in particularly bad form. Even Frost was good on the weekend. We just have no synergy, and the game plan is ruining us thanks to all the goals other teams are being allowed to stack on. As soon as we wrestle momentum, we look ok and can score heavily. We just have literally zero clue how to defend man-on-man and stop other teams running over the top. Roosy wept on Easter Saturday.
Agree 100%.

Problem is that you can’t make significant changes to a game plan in 4 days and expect the players to do it properly.

I don’t think we’ve got the cattle to make the changes that you and I would like to see anyway..

I was listening to Rodney Eade on MMM and he was talking about Melbourne and he used what I thought was a spot on analogy.
He said we were a One day side, not a test side.
Basically he said that we love to just go the tonk for a session, and if someone scores against us our first thought is all good we will just score when we get it. They score 2, we think all good back to the middle and we will try score 3.
He said we cant play like a test team, we cant realise that it not working for us this session and keep it tight outside off or in footy parlance just shut it down and have a goalless 15 minutes, it like we are too arrogant to concede a side might be beating us and just try and nullify. He said instead we just try and bowl more yorkers and hit more sixes.

It is very evident that we just dont have an ability to concede things arent working and changing them, Plan B seems to be do Plan A better.
This is so true.

Strangely enough I was saying the exact same thing last year and the year before that. Somehow we hit form at the right time last year and our momentum carried us through 2 home finals.

We certainly had no plan B though. Not for the entire year.

I cant beleive we have to go through this shit again in 2 days time...
I cant believe we sat down for the 'honesty session' and it lasted one match. One win and they were clearly happy with themselves again and now we have already used that. Dunno where we go from here.

Maybe we need an honesty session every week?

surely there's no way Tmac can be selected to play...(yes I know there's no one else to replace him)
Goodwin might have no choice but to move him back.
Unless we rest Lynch, Riewoldt comes in this gaame, so a move to defence might not only be a necessity, but it might be a blessing in disguise.

Nahhhhh mate. We will probably try and play Jetta on him. Crazy Goody does it again.

To be honest I don't think anyone knows what's going on in our zone.

Changes? Who cares?? I'm sick of the tough talk and piss and wind coming out of this club. No more excuses has been a theme since round 1 ffs.

Listening to Viney's press conference was just embarrassing, same macho rederick as always, confident we will turn it round. What a load of shit,. what will it take for this club to remove it's head from it's arse? Players refrencing the Anzac spirit makes me wanna throw up.

If we don't win i honestly hope Richmond pull our pants down and embarrass us.

Not sure on the Tmac being dropped calls. Looked ok against the swans. Moved well and held some marks. Didn’t look like it on Saturday but I wouldn’t be dropping unless he needs to be rested.

Don't mind the idea of moving T Mac back, I think he might benefit from the change and we should be open to it. I feel it would make our back 6 more stable. If Richmond do play both Lynch and Riewoldt, then it would be necessary for us to move him back I'd say.
