Should Riewoldt and Lynch play, then yeah we'd need another tall down back I reckon. T Mac would be my pick to switch back but Goodwin did say in his press conference that they were going to keep playing him forward.
The Saints situation was so predictable some of us tried staying positive but deep down knew the margin was on point. We are going to get scored against so freely unless we have another defender down there. May & Lever are on ice, Hibberd and Jetta are struggling (Jetta injures) and Lewis moves like a turtle carrying a bag of bricks.

McDonald has to fill the void. We can manufacture a forward line from Weidemann, Petracca, and Melksham. ANB might even come back. We are at risk of getting totally punished Geelong style on Wednesday, if our percentage keeps getting battered we aren’t getting out of bottom 4.

Yeah if we were to move T Mac back I reckon it could free up our forward line a bit. I'm open to the possibility a smaller forward line might function better for us atm. I still think T Mac's best position is up forward but it might be best for him and our team to play him down back for the time being. Just hoping we can turn this around soon and our better player's such as T Mac can get into some quality form.

I'd like to think the players spent time on more than just our current patently outdated game plan over summer.

Having said that, I'm not even sure what are game plan is. We fluke goals and then let the opposition kick 5. If we're trying to achieve something beyond that I have literally no idea what it is.
It’ll come together. It won’t be for two years until this group reaches their peak.

B: Hibberd Petty Frost
HB: Hunt Keilty Salem
C: Brayshaw Oliver Harmes
HF: Melksham T McDonald Hore
F: Preuss Weideman Garlett
Ruck : Gawn Petracca Viney
Inter: Jones Spargo Lockhart Fritsch

In: Petty Keilty Garlett Lockhart
Out: Jetta (injuried - not fit and rest) Wager x2 Lewis

1. Leave T McDonald at FF. If not work, he can go back and swap with Keilty.
2. Bring Petty and Keilty try something new. 2 guys plus Frost give options vs Lynch.
3. Garlett in to bring scoring power.
4. Try Hore at FF.
5. Petracca to play on ball.
Petracca will last 4 minutes on the ball, he needs to play at FF

Interesting though, games played;
Gawn - 104
Viney - 103
Oliver - 65
Brayshaw - 63
Harmes - 74
Petracca - 68
Salem - 75
Fritsch - 28
ANB - 62
Hunt - 52
Hannan - 35
Weidemann - 25
Frost - 74
Lever - 67
May - 124
Hore - 3
Spargo - 21

That’s 17 of close to our starting 22 that have played less than 100 games or a bit over. Of the 6 others;

McDonald - 151
Lewis - 308 (done)
Jones - 269 (done)
Hibberd - 128 (potentially done)
Jetta - 145 (potentially done)
Melksham - 161

So essentially right now, irrespective of what you think of Hibberd & Jetta, we have a core group where 5 players that have played over 100 games (Gawn, Viney, McDonald, Melksham, May)

I expect another 50-60 games into that core group before they are ready for a crack at the flag, that’s 2-3 seasons away. Jones, Lewis, Hibberd, Jetta wont be there, but hopefully Melksham & McDonald will be. Richmond played 3 finals series in a row before dropping away then winning in 17. Hawthorn went through some changes after 08 (5 year gap) before the next flag, WC played a PF in 2011 before floating around a bit and playing a GF in 15 then the flag year last year. Geelong built their list from the 99 and 01 draft before playing finals in 04, 05 then missing in 06 and playing 4 GF in 5 years winning 3.

What have we played? One finals series? Man, we are WAY off a shot at it. I am tipping 2021 could be the year IF;
1. We recover something of 2019
2. Play finals in 2020
3. Address some list management issues: retire who we need to, trade and delist etc
4. Keep the core group together
5. Address the assistant coaching issues and game plan issues and target a really gun assistant coach

I am happy to concede 2019 is a write off if we can salvage part of it and be ready next year with a shot at it in 2021. That will be Goodwin’s 5th year - not unreasonable given how it worked out for Hardwick.
You'll have to excuse me for not keeping the faith after having heard it all before with this club.

Just cause other clubs have rebounded from similar seasons doesn't mean we will, just because other lists develeped on cue doesn't mean ours will, and most importantly, just because other coaches learnt from their mistakes doesn't mean ours will.

If Roos and Jackson were still in charge I'd be much more confident because they have done it before, Pert and Goodwin? Blind Faith is required, it's not something I'm willing to fall into.

I think we need to continue with the same mix. It’s not part of our brand or DNA to change now. Can’t see how Richmond could possibly win the ground ball and rebound at light speed if we get it inside 50 indiscriminately to Preuss, T Mac, Weed, Petracca, Melksham and Hunt.

Mate, you’ll flog us. Don’t be nice because you’re on our board. You can’t get punished for speaking the truth. You’re starting to hit your straps, it’ll be an 80-100 point drubbing
Wasnt just being nice. You guys are too good to be doing this badly. You'll respond this week.

Also, we dont belt teams. We arent efficient enough going forward. Can also see the young guys struggling to back up after a 4 day break. Stack, Ross, Balta, Bolton will all struggle imo. Rioli also very sore and could be an out

I think you’re overrating us. We might be good in terms of our list, but our game plan is so dysfunctional. I honestly can’t see how we get near you without an unbelievable turnaround.

I know what you’re saying, i am just looking at it from one viewpoint. I do think we have time, but I am not sold on Simon.

We are going to need two KPD against Richmond. Lynch and Riewoldt will be giving Frost sweaty palms for the next few days. If Membrey kicked 3-4 on him then one of those 2 is in for 7-8.
Frost played on Bruce and was actually pretty good.

Membrey played on Hibberd or vice versa.

Piss Off You Troll
Beat us by 150 so we actually make some changes instead of still thinking we are good
That would not really be too kind , Lets just make it 62 points at half time with melbourne coming back to lose by 5 points in the dying minutes.

We need to consider your percentage and keep you guys motivated to slap the feral mob down the road

If you are talking about the Pies we will challenge the 186 against them, their midfield embarrasses the **** out of ours

We have this obsession with winning contested footy, we won contested footy against Richmond, Hawthorn, Collingwood last year and got belted in all of them. We had 4 of the top 5 contested ball players in the Prelim final and we got embarassed.

I wanna know what else we are trying to fix
