Changes vs Richmond

I have a feeling that Hamling will be in for JJ out. I did not see JJ out at training today which is a real worry. At the end of the session all the defendres you would expect to play where spending time with Smithy, Hamling was there but JJ was not! Hopefully he is OK and I just didn't spot him, but I am a little worried.

Notice they spent a fair bit of time practising attacking and defending from kick-outs today. The zone is well and truly in full swing. Who is the designated kicker for the Tigers, hopefully he doesn't have the monster boot on him like Hurn and they can't get over the back as easily. Also practised the their tackling. Redders definitely looks to be lining up based on some of the one on one work he was doing with Hanson.

Smith was back out looking in fine fettle. Tell you what the kid has some mits on him. Was having a k2k with Moyd after the session and he was leading out pretty hard, about ten drilled passes from Moyd and Clay with fully stretched arms did not fumble one.

Great report - thanks DD! Not good news about JJ though...hopefully he is not ill or injured.

Cheers for that, everything I read on Clay gets me so ****ing excited. Unleash him already!

Not good on JJ, we desperately need him at the G. If he is out do we bite the bullet and go with Webb? I guess we will find out.

Cordy in for Redpath.

Light duties? hopefully if he isn't training on the ground, it is just precautionary

Yeh look it was only in the last set-up with Smithy I really noticed him missing. In saying that he's usually pretty conspicuous out there and I notice him. So he might have started and gone in, or as you say light duties. I can tell you safely though generally of they're not training Thursday they are not playing Saturday.

Had a feeling we might bring in a resting ruck for Redpath but it's terribly unfair to drop him after one poor game, particularly when his physicality had a demonstrable impact.

Rather keen to get down to Punt Road this week and see how Hrovat, Hunter, Webb & co. perform.

Hmm. Not overly rapt with that but maybe its not just because of a poor game and we feel we will get more from Cordy. Happy to see how he goes but would have loved to have seen Red out there again

I know its only the teamsheet but Honey named in the center and Grant on the bench. Please no sub for Grant! Glad seeing Webb in the EMGs, he's close!

Can understand the change but not overly happy about it. Our forward line needs to be as settled as possible so we can get it to gel together as quickly as possible. Having a second ruck helps though.

Would have liked Redpath to get another game but at can see the reasoning behind it allows Boyd to stay forward and having 2 x 200cm guys forward might well stretch Richmonds defenders also think Cordy can impact as second ruck who is Richmonds second ruck? think we can have an advantage there.

Hrovat Webb and Redpath as emergencies

Agree with that but Cordy probably does deserve a game and offers a different take on last weeks forward line. Will be interesting to see how we manage game time between Cordy and Redpath this year seeing as you can probably only play one and they both will probably deserve games on VFL form, while still trying to settle the forward line as much as possible. You can throw Campbell in too I suppose. Ah well good problem to have.

Great change, but didnt think it would happen, Redpaths opponents have been best on ground or near enough to in every game, letting Rance on him would be a disaster. Multiple talls, two rucks and some speed in middle, big contrast yo last years selection lotto

Well Redpath was far and away our worst player on the ground, so not surprised he's out. Cordy needs an opportunity too good luck to him.

But having said, that would have been okay for Redpath to get an extended go.

But perhaps the MC was worried what Rance might do to us zoning off Redpath, and about Will covering the big MCG for a whole game.

Similar to how Hawks structured up on Monday. One permanent key forward (Rough) and two Ruckmen (Ceglar and McEvoy).

We REALLY need Cordy to make some impact up forward. I like his movement in the Collingwood game so hopefully he can bring that.

I like that it means Toyd doesn't have to go into the Ruck against Maric or Griffiths, Minno will be better for it to and he will get longer rest periods.

Three KPPs over 200 cm (plus minson).

I've liked Ayce's last few games. Redpath stiff though.

If Cordy performs and stays in, Redpath needs to try and displace Toyd from the team.
