ok 1.
Rohan bail has missed 2 months of footy and he has just got through a VFL reserves games, no way in hell he is playing
2. Gawn is not ready for afl level, maybe against GC but you have to drop either martin or jamar
3. Gysberts is injured, i dont think he is even gonna be fit

dont know who to bring in

but out - morton, davey, sylvia

ive officially lost patience with morton

Re: Changes vs Gold Coast

I remember being so excited about our clash earlier in the year and now this week its hard to muster up the meaning of a win. You guys probably know that feeling.

I thought today was Todds last chance to get Melbourne looking at him for next year given he needed to knock off a top 8 team to swing Melbourne away from chasing the big name. A win against us or Gold Coast is something that Bailey could have given you.

Re: Changes vs Gold Coast

1. We play Richmond.

2. Rivers was one of our best today. Stopped his man and very sure with his disposal.

3. Bail played VFL 2's and Gysberts on the team sheet was listed as scaphoid, which means broken wrist. They won't be back next week.

OUT: Morton
IN: Jetta

I wouldn't mind dropping Tapscott, he was awful today, but instead I think just switching him and Nicholson would be reasonable.

Viney's already said he doesn't want the gig next year mate.

Is there a grain of intelligence in there? Seriously? You don't even know who we play next week and then in STING2 fashion you make big statements that make no sense at all.

Rivers was terrific today (again), Gawn isn't ready and certainly not better than Martin or Jamar, Bail played one game in the ressies after 2 months out and Gysberts is injured. At least make the effort to make changes that are realistic and not garbage.

In: Nev Jetta
Out: Cale Morton

I don't think we have anyone else to bring in really. McDonald might come in but we've played him defensively all year for Casey and none of our tall backmen will be dropped. Jurrah MAY come back in but that's a big call. No-one else is worth bringing in after that.

Neither did Jade Rawlings but he wasnt a happy boy when he missed out on the full time gig after he got a taste.

Once they get a sniff of being in the coaches box, things can change, but I hadnt heard he had come out and declare that he is not interested.

Very few blokes who take over for more than six games dont feel the itch. Ben Allan being an exception.

Re: Changes vs Gold Coast

In defense of Morton, he won the footy today but looked down on confidence. I admit there were a couple of times he went one armed at tackles and didn't go hard enough at contests, but lets give him 3 games on the ball to see if he can cut the mustard. He looks like a kid with the weight of the world on his shouldres.

Out: Davey, Bartram, Morton, Sylvia, MacDonald

In: Jetta, McDonald, Davis, Fitzpatrick, Bail

Lets debut the **** out of some of our players. Time to see if they can play because it's an essential year for list management.

Completely agree, give the kid a decent crack at it... if he doesn't improve in the next 3 weeks, piss him off.

Besides, who are we really going to replace him with?

Very little will be learnt by debuting McDonald, Davis or Fitzpatrick. The first 2 have contracts anyway as they are first year players, Fitzpatrick on the other hand is just finding his feet at VFL seniors after another season of injuries. He should play the rest of the VFL season and probably finals.

I'm all for giving young guys a game, especially someone like McDonald, but I think they have to deserve them. Seeing the Frawley, Rivers, Garland and Joel Macdonald (despite the turnovers) were amongst our better players I think Tom McDonald has to wait another week at least.

I think there is more to salvage by playing our best line up and attempting to win 3 games. We need to look at what West Coast achieved this year, which was obviously to have a bit of belief over the off season and some good coaching, that combined in dramatic improvement.

Re: Changes vs Gold Coast

Whatever we do, please leave Morton in.

We should leave Cale in and play him loose in the backline, try to make him look good. It's the only way we will get anything for him in the trade period.

In: Jetta
Out: Scully, why develop a kid for GWS?

More like he doesnt want to coach his kid.

I dont want him to coach his kid.

Or, we show a little faith and play him in the guts for the remainder of the season.

Davey and Sylvia seriously need to get into the game more. As bad as his disposal was, Bartram tried a lot harder than many other players today :(

Re: Changes vs Gold Coast

OUT : Davey and Sylvia need to string multiple good games in the vfl before they should play AFL again. If this mean they don't play until next season so be it.

IN : NFI

Re: Changes vs Gold Coast

Would love to see Davis and McDonald get a few games before the end of the season but I don't think our key backs are going to dropped, so why not give them ago in our forward line, we lack tall forwards and Lucas Cook isn't ready yet, perfect time to try them out.

In: Davis, McDonald, Green, Jetta

Out: Davey, Bartrim, Tapscott, Dunn unlucky but need room for Davis and McDonald

I thought Morton was having a crack in the first quarter but after some woeful skill errors lost all his confidence, I would leave him in to try and get some confidence at AFL level.
