As a Lark Medalist and a first round draft pick, I had hoped he would be an A grader.

My comments on him are against an A Grade standard so yes - I might be judging him a bit harsh. He is usually a good solid player. I should have said what is holding him back going the next level is his lack of right sidedness and his footy IQ is at times very frustrating.
Understand your frustration, sometimes patience is required...I mean look how long it took for Masten to be a GUN!! ;)
(ps-compared to the years of Priddis's kicking it 'aint too bad...that's frustration!)

Well now Neil Young is that old man. Happens in the blink of an eye, or so it seems.

All our players struggle when they return early or dont go into the WAFL to get some touch before returning to the seniors. With Shuey out i guess we paniced and brought him back early. Sheed was excellent last year when given a shot in the middle and injury free and he showed plenty.

What attitude?

as in the coaching staff

if a player is playing scratchy which we have had many over the years, should get dropped ala sheed (which is a good thing to get him into touch)
rather than play them week in week out and constantly see them burn the ball. that was our approach for years.

Sheed has been dropped before. He was overlooked for round 1 last season and then dropped after 1 game. He’s been the only bloke in our list in recent times that’s not been given a chance to play them selves into form. Meanwhile the likes of Barrass, Duggan, Nelson, Hutchings and Masten have been given the opportunity to play themselves into form.

Like to see Simmo experiment a bit with one of Cole, Nelson or Duggan on a wing or even in the guts.

I agree with some posters in that Sheed has an attitude problem.ive said he was headed for the chop two weeks running on pos/neg threads. He drops his head and doesnt chase.its all very well to receive the ball or to tackle in close when the action is within a couple of metres of you but when its outside he doesnt grit his teeth and crack in.Watch him! He lacks in tenacity and has really poor body language!! please dont bother throwing his stats at me;Stats lie!

Dom Sheed has been a “little bit scratchy” and needs to get some touch at East Perth, coach Adam Simpson explained after the 23-year-old was dropped from the Eagles line up to play St Kilda tomorrow night......

“The same thing happened to Mark Hutchings early in the year. He did a really good job on Selwood and then I think we had another midfielder come back in. It is not a punishment. He just got squeezed out.”
