Would there be much of a reason to rest players this game? We have a bye after the saints game to freshen everyone up. Important to just keep banking wins at this point then we can afford to manage and rest players in the last 5-7 games before finals. Understandable if Shuey isn't 100%, worth giving him another week so he comes out firing against the Swans.

Can't afford to take the Saints lightly. Im expecting they'll be copping it from the media this week as Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood had reasonably impressive performances.

Got some info .
Shuey will play next week
Ryan back after the bye
Mcgovern will sign wants to stay at wce but wants 6 years instead of 5 even if its on less money per year
That would be a good option. Less $ per year would free up more for Gaff. At the start of the year I would have said Gov is priority but Gaff is ahead now. One of the best mids in the comp.

Don't understand those wanting to rest players, we shouldn't take it easy until later in the season when positions on the ladder become more cemented and we have a bye the week after anyway for those with niggles.

If Shuey is fit then play him.

Obviously if they're not 100% and playing injured then they should get a break.

But I don't want to rest players just for the sake of it. Shouldn't take the Saints for granted and we have a bye the week after.

Sheppard doesn't need a rest, Yeo could be rested but I'd prefer Shuey comes in for Sheed or Hutchings.

It gives us that extra quality ball user around the ball instead of these no look bombs the other two are constantly guilty of. Sheed has had about 4 out of bounds on the full the past two weeks, he's not in good touch at all.

I want Shuey in, even if it's for Masten if his hamstring doesn't recover, resting him just because we have a bye the week after is stupid.

As Simpson said in the press conference about Shuey "he is a pretty important player for us if he's fit he will play". Only players who aren't fit should be rested. We don't want to mess with a group that is playing well.
There are probably several players who are "fit to play" but who might be sore and might benefit from an extra week off. I have no problem tweaking the line-up if that's the case.

In Petch and Shuey
Out Achee and Hutch

FB Hurn Gov Cole
HB Shep Barras Jetta
C Masten Shuey Gaff
HF Lecca Darling Crippa
FF Rioli JK Waterman
FF NN Yeo Redden
Int Sheed, Petcch, Duggan & Lycett

Then the only players out of the best 22 would be LIam Ryan

Surely Ah Chee could do a better job with Mastens midfield minutes.
Masten had 11 disposals and 0 tackles where else Ah Chee (not playing in his desired position) collected 14 disposals and 3 tackles.
Shuey should play next week to get match fitness, and bring in petch.

In: Shuey, Petch
Out: Hutchings (Not needed), Masten (form)

Petch too play Ah Chees' role and Ah Chee too play Mastens, would also be looking to possibly blood another youth (Brander/Mallen) if either Kennedy or Waterman need a rest.

Elliot, Brad, Andrew and maybe Shannon could do with a rest. Think there will be 3-4 changes this week as we’ll give a few boys that are sore a well earned siesta.

Masten only played 71% TOG this week due to hamstring soreness. Didn't appear in the top 5 for km's covered for what I believe is only the second time this year. He struggled to push himself and played heavily managed minutes.

Despite this, Ah Chee only played 67% TOG today, so even without Masten playing as much as usual, they still didn't rotate him onto the wing to fill those minutes up. Perhaps he's injured as well? Maybe he's got some knocks or he might not be fit enough to take that role.

I'd have imagined they could have changed that today but they didn't have Ah Chee out there for very long either. He may not be capable atm due to fitness/his own injuries (this is my speculation based on nothing but TOG and circumstances of today).
