Masten only played 71% TOG this week due to hamstring soreness. Didn't appear in the top 5 for km's covered for what I believe is only the second time this year. He struggled to push himself and played heavily managed minutes.

Despite this, Ah Chee only played 67% TOG today, so even without Masten playing as much as usual, they still didn't rotate him onto the wing to fill those minutes up. Perhaps he's injured as well? Maybe he's got some knocks or he might not be fit enough to take that role.

I'd have imagined they could have changed that today but they didn't have Ah Chee out there for very long either. He may not be capable atm due to fitness/his own injuries (this is my speculation based on nothing but TOG and circumstances of today).

Thanks for the input, forgot about Ah Chees interrupted preseason and Mastos injury today, kind of understand the low numbers and TG% for them now.:thumbsu:

Ah Chee seems like a complete nearly player . maybe not playing him to his strengths

Just remember how long it took Redden and Jetta to settle into the team, applies to Rockliff and Lever at too. Defs wasn't at his best today but happy to have faith in the club and him atm.

Ah chee has never been able to achieve the fitness levels required to be a full time mid.
Hopefully he has a big preseason

I don't understand the reasoning for recruiting ah Chee only to do the same thing that port did to him - chucking him on a flank. His strength is the midfield. If we drop him for his performance today, it wouldn't really be fair on him at all. He needs time in the guts!

Not really going to be fair on whoever gets dropped for Shuey. It's a good position to be in.

Happy for Hutch to stay in as long as he’s doing a job (Jack Stevens comes to mind this week).

If Masten is still struggling with a hamstring, it might be best to swap him with Shuey or Petrucelle coming in.

Ah Chee was OK, competed hard but just looks a bit average. We have a ton of better smalls forwards coming back soon (Petch, Ryan, Venables) so he’d be wanting to make an impact in the midfield pretty soon. Not sure he’ll get the chance though.

If Masten needs a break, shift Duggan to the wing and bring in either Franky Watson or Rotham.

Wanna see another debutant before the bye!
Ainsworth seems like he has a good tank. Probably get him on Mastens wing. Or we could move Jetta into the wing and bring in Nelson.

What's Ainsworth's speed like? I've never really seen him in a sprint.

I am sure Sheppard is sore, Gaff probably as well, but these players have made a career out of playing hurt, they don't need to be rested. I am assuming Simpson is referring to one of the talls being rested with Brander maybe coming in, but that's just a hunch.

Slower than Cole
