Possible Outs: Houlihan, Butler

On Butler, today was another game where he had something like 12 possessions. He plays in the middle. I just can't see him improving. I hope I'm wrong.

?? wasn't Butler mostly mixed down back and hff today? And when in the middle in second half at times did a good job running with Davenport and keeping him more quiet after he carved us up in the first half??

Outs: Emac, Butler, Spangher

Ins: Wilkes, Fletcher, Davis

Emac: Was pretty poor this week and Wilkes has been on fire give him a go.
Butler: Is supposed to lead by example but cant lead a drunk to the pub ATM, bring in Fletch for a farewell game.
Spangher: We are playing too many talls, would be the weakest defender in the team ATM and davis can Polax ballintyne.:thumbsu:

Doesn't matter because we have rolled out the M1 Abrams :thumbsu:.

I'd like to see Ben Mckinley get another go plus he's not a tall forward so that's good. But his defensive pressure lacks, how was he in the WAFL on the weekend? I think he's still got potential and i personally wouldn't trade him, being leading goal kicker and rookie of the year last year, he obviously has something to offer to the club still.

Ben was very good for the Royals on Saturday. Kicked two goals and contributed to at least 3 others (from memory). His defensive work was also very good and seemed to really enjoy his footy.
Oh, did I mention that the Mighty Royals thrashed the second placed Swannies!!

Correct. But dont let fact get in the way of a good player bashing. It's just not the done thing here.

Our forward line is too big, however one would suspect that Seaby and Hansen are currently getting games to maximise their trade value, much like Freo did with Warnock last year.

I don't like the idea of dropping guys like Naitanui and EMac..getting games into them is invaluable.

Cockie should stay, he comes across as a young Kerr minus the agro.

I like the idea of trading Seaby to Port for Surjan as mantioned in the other thread. A small lock down defender would be great.

I bet you do.

Obviously we have to add to the deal with a pick but IMO if we put the effort in we can get it done. A Eagles boy through and through, W.A through and through and we have the cash to burn a hole in his pocket

Those ins make it too obvious that we're tanking. There's no chance of winning games of footy with Feltcher playing.
Then again, I say in that case, Feltcher should lead our midfield. Gather up all our stocks of various vegetables and barnyard animals so as to play them all.

Out: Butler, One of Lynch Hansen or Naitanui, Spangher
In: Nicoski, Stenglein, Davis

I reckon out of the talls Naitanui goes out, With Seaby and Lynch in the ruck and Brown down back. Too many talls in the forward line isn't the best thing. Not many teams have 3 talls in the one forward line, and for me we have seen this a lot for West Coast. They might be in good form but the forward line can't function with 3 or 4 talls IMO.
Butler is really struggling, you've gotta give him time though. Next season would have to be make or break for him.
Spangher goes out, I think he is in that awkward height bracket where he is too small to play on the bigger guys yet too big or slow to play on the smaller guys. I know Hunter is the same size but I don't think he has the body type to do what Hunter has been able to do. Still I'd drop him and have Brown in the backline.
Wirra is an interesting one, he's struggling atm, wouldn't mind seeing him around half forward for a change.

So many things you could change for this week, but surely we need to win a derby!!

I agree Spanger is an odd size. he is better on the wing running but not agile enough to be a defender on a small.

Naitanui? Well i think we have to accept he is playing for development and stay with him unless he is injured. His handball under pressure can be very attacking and his tackling? -well if he gets more tackles, they are of such quality, he will start to unsettle oponents. So there are positives.

We need to drop a tall. Whether it's Naita, Brown, Seaby or someone else, we went into the Port game far too tall.

Thatts your answer (unfortunately IMO) Mitch Brown down back on Scott Thornton

Perfect opportunity to blood some more young guns.

Out - Lynch, Hansen,
In - J Jones, S Selwood

Why - we are to tall we need more run.

Hansen deserves to be retained. He's kicked 6 goals in the last 2 games and has the third highest average for contested marks behind Kennedy and Cox.
