It might be a little optimistic, but my theory is that it wouldn't hurt.

He could put in some excellent performances, or he could prove why he should be delisted. It's not like playing Drum will hurt our finals chances.

Could also be an indication that he was 2nd to the ball all night and not willing to hit the contest.

Fair comment. From my seat Mundy was definitely around a lot of contests but he was never really in and under.

One player who really surprised me with the way he stepped up was Ibbotson. He took up the Schammer role of scrapping for the ball in the packs brilliantly. Granted he made a few crucial mistakes, but he had plenty of the footy and generally used it ok. The amount of times Ibbo was fighting desperately for the ball on his hands and knees was great to see. Well done :thumbsu:

Yep, there were a couple of contests where a Freo player went sliding in at full speed and I was surprised to see the number 5 on his back.

I think you're very optimistic. No one will offer anything for him regardless of playing him or not. AND, it would undermine all of the work Harvey is doing to set a standard. It'd be half a step forward and 13 back!

Does he have any choice? Campbell didn't deserve a game this week. Murphy didn't deserve one last week. Bradley didn't deserve a game, nor Mundy, Peake and probably McPharlin. If Tarrant is injured and Pavlich doesn't play next week, it probably comes down to a choice between Drum, Head and Gilmore. What would you do?

I'd bring in Sandi, play Mcpharlin down back to replace Taz, and play Kepler up forward, with Sandi, and Clarke also rotating through FF with Kep.

At present we are scrapping the bottom of the list to get a team on the park, so when you look at it, who is available to come back from injury and is anyone burning it up in the WAFL ?.

I have been impressed with Ruffles, yes alot of work to be done on him, but he has a go and shows good skills. Hill has looked jaded at times, but I was impressed that he at least tries to take on the opposition and try to create, gets caught at times, but I'd rather a player trying something.

Obviously I am not the only "footsteps" Mundy fan here !!!!, but I can see him staying. I think a move of Mundy and Elvis back to familar positions may reverse their popularity slide.

From what I hear, Sandi and Schammer are 100%, Pav and Des ( formerly Seagull ) are 50/50. So if only Sandi and Schammer come up, I would leave out Foster and Clarke ( sore ).

As mentioned earlier, very impressed with Ibbotson when the going was real tough.

Tuesday Few showers easing. Min 8 Max 17
Wednesday Shower or two, fine breaks. Min 8 Max 18
Thursday Few showers. Min 9 Max 17
Friday Few showers. Min 6 Max 17
Saturday Shower or two. Min 5 Max 17

Obviously the forecast could change between now and Saturday but conditions similar to last night wouldn't suit someone with Drum's pace and turning circle.

Pratt and Son Son on the other hand should be certain starters.

In
Head - last game ever
Drum
Pratt
Walters
OUT
Mundy -needs to be sent a msg
Keplar - not convinced doesnt do well as backup ruck an cant take a grap down forward
Suban - been fantastic rest him dont kill him in his 1st season by overplaying him.
Hill - rest same as above

Incase u cant tell i really hate the eagles.
And if we really want to hurt them an stick it right up them best way to do that is to make them miss out on a prioriy pick.
Them missing out on that will hurt them much more than simple little bragging rights for a week or 2.

If the coaching staff really are tanking this year they need to be smart an leave emotions out of this game an stuff up the eagles chance at PP.

Bradley and even Campbell were pretty good on a crap night. Kiwi has to learn to extend the arms.

Mundy sh1ts me, he's soft and slow. I think maybe stick him at full forward. He can lead a bit, kick pretty well and if he avoids manning up in front of goal like he does in the middle he could be useful.

Hill needs a break for sure. Rufflles should get another run, he was quiet but looked composed enuf when he got the ball.

Give Pav another week off but Sandi can lead the charge of the youngsters against a pretty ordinary WC outfit.

Out:
Mundy, Foster [inj], Taz/Grover [depending on how Taz pulls up, if he's good then Grover should be dropped]

In:

Sandi, Pav, Walters

I'm surprised Grover didn't get a mention here. Cost us directly 2-3 goals. I'm afraid he's slowly becoming another Shane Parker in the twighlight of his career, honest but a huge liability. That's been his story of the year really. The club will need to make a decision on his future.

Have I missed something with Clarke and an apparent injury? A few people have him as outs due to injury, but as far as I can tell somebody last night just posted that they thought he looked he sore. He looked fine to me, maybe just a tad tired. But nothing that should keep him out.

Also, any word on Foster or Tarrant over in Perth today?

im suprised with the lack of Schammer mentions. He has been pretty good this year and he always seems to play well in derbys

I think its more the fact they don't want to admit that he was thoroughly beaten by a part time ruckman.

Sorry, I meant Foster and not Clarke.

It's not a shame to be beaten by Mitch Clark, especially in your 3rd game in the AFL. That was a silly comment.

After watching what The Eagles put up today we would have to not turn up and forfeit on the day to lose. They have the cue in the rack bigtime. Fortunately or not depending on your point of view I don't believe Harves will play to lose but maybe I'm naive.

If it were up to me , I would not rush Sandi & Pav back and give them another week to be safe.

I would rest Hilly , Suban & Hase and bring back Murph , Happy & give Sibo a game.

Exactly Rip, no point risking aggravating Pav and Sandi's injuries.

Hase needs a rest and Hilly and Suban are due too.

Mundy and McPharlin need a run in the WAFL too.

I'd bring back Head as well for Tazza.

Good idea. :thumbsu:

How's Buco been going? We should get a look at him too, Maybe rest Groves.

Don't know why anyone would suggest Hill be dropped, he was a key player that won the game for us against West Coast earlier in the season.

Hill has played two games in the heavy wet, vs Port and Brisbane. I wouldn't say he was 'poor' last night, but I really don't think he is a wet weather player.

Not dropped, rested.
